KARACHI - Criticizing the PPP-led Sindh government and law-enforcement agencies for their faultier to restore peace in Karachi, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that his faction was punished for it efforts for inter-faith unity.
He was addressing Ittihad Bain ul Muslimeen Conference via telephone from London.
Earlier, he condemned the incident of terrorism that occurred this morning in Quetta’s area of Hazar Ganji, and termed Quetta killing as a continuity of conspiracies being plotted against the country.
In a statement, he said the anti-state elements, while stoking the sectarian strife amidst critical situation in the country, were spilling the blood of innocent people, adding these terrorists were opposed to the ideologies of Quaid-e-Azam.
Muttahida’s chief said his party was against the killing of innocent people in the name sect, nationality, religion and school of thought.
Altaf appealed to ulema and people belonging to all schools of thoughts to maintain inter-faith harmony.
