ISLAMABAD - Passengers are facing acute difficulties as transporters have increased fares before Eid day.
According to the passengers, the transporters were aware that people would spend Eid with their families and therefore decided to exploit the poor people by increasing transport fares according to their wills.
It is pertinent to mention here that most of the people in the twin-cites of Islamabad and Rawalpindi come from other parts of the country and they had to go to their native cities and towns in any case to celebrate Eid with their loved ones.
Meanwhile, transport authorities and police failed to do anything in this regard and kept themselves away from the problems of the passengers.
The passengers said that this was not the first time that the transporters were doing this, adding that they illegally raised fares on every Eid.
They demanded that the government should take advance measures to control the situation and take firm action against the transporters.
