SOUTH WAZIRISTAN - The spokesman for banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Ehsanullah Ehsan on Friday said the Awami National Party (ANP) was deceiving itself by offering to hold talks with Taliban and criticized the current rulers as liberals and seculars with whom talks seemed impossible.
Vowing to continue attacks on NATO supplies, Ehsan denied TTP’s connection with bombings in bazaars and mosques, adding that it were Pakistan’s intelligence agencies that were involved in such bombings “in order to defame the Taliban”.
“There are no differences between TTP chief Hamkimullah Mehsud and TTP’s SWA chapter commander Waliur Rehman Mehsud,” he said, adding that the Pakistani government was propagating against the TTP commanders, “but the fact is that both commanders are in unity”. He said the TTP considered the current leadership of Pakistan secular and non-Muslim, adding that all the parties in power in Pakistan including the ANP were considered by Taliban as slave to the US. He said the ANP was deceiving itself by offering peace talks with the Taliban, adding that Taliban were very strong in SWA and still at war with the security forces of Pakistan. He said the TTP fighters were attacking various cities of the country the proof of which was clear to the entire world.
He said Taliban respected all Islamic festivals including Ramadan and Eidul Fitr, adding that the TTP was not launching attacks in Ramadan and instead only involved in a defensive war with the government of Pakistan. He said toppling of the Taliban government in Afghanistan and usurping of the country by use of brutalities was the clear message of war against Islam and Muslims from the NATO forces.
