Power crisis: 20 feeders trip in rain-hit Lahore

LAHORE - Almost half of the city went without power on Friday as 20 feeders tripped due to heavy showers.
There were reports of faults in underground cables and high transmission lines.
Affected areas included Akbari Gate, Harbanspura, College Road, Model Town, Babu Sabu and Bakra Mandi.
According to the Energy Management Cell (EMC), Pakistan’s current power demand is 17,900 MW compared to total generation of 14,400 MW.
