Five districts declared unsafe for Youm-e-Ali

LAHORE - Punjab government on Thursday declared five districts of the province unsafe for the occasion of Youm-e-Ali and beefed up the security as a precautionary measure.
The five districts believed to be unsafe in terms of security are Lahore, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Rahimyar Khan. Police and administration have been directed to take extra security measures during processions to be taken out on the occasion.
Police sources said that on special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, security in the said districts has been tightened with deployment of additional security forces.
The chief minister has warned the police authorities that negligence in security issue would not be tolerated at all.
