TTP claims Peshawar Cantt attack

PESHAWAR - The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for clashing with security forces on the night between Monday and Tuesday, to free a group of militants from the custody of security forces. In a statement, TTP spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan claimed his militants had clashed with the security forces in the sensitive and fortified cantonment area of Peshawar.
He admitted that three of his men had died in the skirmish. The spokesman also claimed that they had freed three militants who had rejoined their comrades “safely”. Officials have already confirmed the deaths of three militants and two soldiers in the clash, which continued for more than two hours in the cantonment area.
