LAHORE - Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Director General, Mujahid Sherdil has said that besides rivers monsoon rains have also affected hill torrents and water channels. He said that flow of water has increased in the rivers as a result of release of water by India. He said that in order to avoid misleading and exaggerated news items, people should contact phone number 99205371 of Flood Warning Centre for gaining up to date information about water flow in the rivers. He said that only Lahore Flood Warning Centre can provide up to date information about river situation in the province. He said that water level has started normalising in all rivers of the province. He said that relief camps have been set up in the flood-prone districts besides staff of PDMA, other concerned departments and district administration are also present at the camps.
