CJ takes notice of Abidi’s press conference against judiciary

Supreme-Court-of-Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Monday took notice of press conference held by PPP Senator Faisal Raza Abidi in which he hurled serious allegations against him and maligned the apex court.
The CJ had sought footage of the press briefing to see whether it came under contempt of court or not. Abidi on Sunday held a press conference at the National Press Club in Islamabad and accused the CJ of acquitting a terrorist who allegedly killed 100 people. He also said that he would soon table a bill against the judges who had taken oath on the PCO.
Moreover, Advocate Tariq Assad filed plea in the court, seeking action under contempt of court against Faisal Raza Abidi and PEMRA for the press conference.

calling a corrupt judge as corrupt …..is it a crime.

    • Hamid Khan says:

There is way to prceed against a judge under the law.

      • Hamid Khan says:

Thrre is procedure. under the law. A procedure is being followed against Zaradri. Other wiise is known world over what Zaradri does He is notorious all over world and I know from personal experience.

        • KhalidSaeed says:

What procedure is being followed!!! As long as he is president(like Sarkozi) he enjoys immunity. He can be tried the next day he is out. Constitution unequivocally declares immunity. SC after wrongly including order for writting a letter in its decision now finds itself in fix and ironically presses the govt to implement its illegal order. Why govt shud bear the damage due to SC mistake.Judges are incompetent.

          • KhalidSaeed says:

Molana Sahib what procedure is being followed. Is asking for an illegal act is procedure?

        • KhalidSaeed says:

Molana Sahib what is the procedure which is being followed. Like govt and 180 million people SC is also bound by constitution and cannot order any illegal act.

  8. reader says:

this is why every institution is against ppp. they come into governement, break all records in corruption and make policies in accordance to the prosperity of their party rather than the country and when, an institution tries to grip them, they start with the blame game by accusing them of a bigger crime.

  9. Rao Imran Habib says:

Innocent and clean sheet politicians, No bhatta khori in Karachi, no corruption in the ranks of the Governmet, economic policies are very sound but the only problem is a Corrupt judiciary in Pakistan. If these judges resign then all the problems of the nation will be solved. If we think this way then Pakistan ka Allah hi Hafiz

  10. Hamid Khan says:

This man (Abidi)in insane and must be put in a mental institution with his hand legs and feet shackled. Then a thick long steel rod (Sarya) must be shoved up his A**S**S.

  11. Hamid Khan says:

This man is insane and must be admitted in a mental institution along with Zaradri

  12. Saqib Tahir says:

Contempt of court threat has become a big joke. If law is equal for every one then why judges are above criticism? Allegations by Senator Abidi deserve investigation not a bullying like a dictator. Arslan case is not going to die mr. Justice.

    • Hamid Khan says:

There is proceedure under the law, which should be followed. Pakistan is a very special failed state where no one want to respect law. This country is on path od self destruction. You will have no country called Pakistan on world map. Then you will not have fun by posting on these sites. For sake of your fun save this country., if nothing else.

      • Malik Nisar says:

the procedure is faulty and anyone can challange CJ arbitrary judgement. He is corrupt and should go home

        • Hamid Khan says:

          • Hamid Khan says:

Mr. Khalid Saeed you called me Molana. There are no Molanas in the country where I live. II live is civilized soceity. Pakistan can keep all the Molana they want. Fact is tthat Pakistan is a F**U**K**E** D up nation and most dysfunctional state. They cant even figure out what is good for them or bad for them. You live stone ages with no electricity. you cant even go to mosques without risking your lives. You are sorrounded bu terrorist and export terrorist to pther country. • KhalidSaeed says:

Living abroad and in a civilized society you support Jihadies of PTI and PMLN and oppose a beseiged progressive and secular force like PPP.It means civilized society did nt change ur mind. PPP is beseiged by Jihadies of army, a fundo CJ, and Jamatia fanatics sitting in PMLN and PTI and terrorist supportive media. All three have paralysed PPP govt, Look at statement of a judge of SupremeCourt of Canada who also held CJ responsible for current anarchy in Pakistan.Judiciary is politicized.

          • Daddy says:

@Hamid Khan. Pay attention to the posts. This scum of the earth KhalidSaeed is the same person posing as Zamil yesterday. If you look at the (big)words he uses they are the same. It is not a coincedence. He is gutless weasel and keeps changing names but gets caught because of his limited knowledge and vucabulary of the english language. He is a jiayala and he may be confused as to who his father is and keeps changing his name because he finds out about a different person who could be his father everday. Jiayala breed is probabaly just a notch above the baboon breed :)

          • Hamid Khan says:

whoever he is he is an a**S**S hole

      • Saqib Tahir says:

        1. Yes there is a procedure under the law. Musharaf followed the procedure by sending a reference against the corrupt and hypocrite judge. His reference was never decided on merit.
        2. The constitution gives the President complete immunity but this judge does not want to obey it.
        3. Removal of the PM is sole right of the parliament but this judge removed an elected PM and is after another.

He is a 2nd Zia and for him law is just a piece of paper. His aim is to remove Zardari by hook or by crook. He is playing politics and his support come from anti-PPP people.
        Him

  13. pagal kay bachoo its not against judiciary its against CJ

  14. Shahid says:

    • ali says:

CJ with bunch of others is political entity, not any standard a Court, another joke with poor people of Pakistan….

  15. krahim says:

    This MQM senator reminds me of a qoute from Habib Al Ajami;
To an ass, a thistle is delicious fruit. The ass eats the thistle, it remains an ass.
The question arises who gave this plant to the senator that made him a loud-mouth and lose his sense of direction.

  16. Intizar Ahmad says:

Faisal Abidi is our hero….CJ is kanna dajjal…!

  17. ali says:

big mouth or not so bog mouth ? he is right and had courage to speak against mafia like CJ.

  18. Ambion says:

My fellow bloggers – yes we all have the right to defend our likes and dislikes and we cannot impose our beliefs on any other person – but its a big question mark? for the future politics of Pakistan – 1. Can it be allowed for Judges to legislate or de-legislate laws ? 2.Can CJ be allowed immunity from being questioned? 3.Can SC be allowed to topple elected Governments (PM and Cabinet ministers) ? 4.Can Pakistan afford to allow SC judges to order transfers/deputation/suspending of government serving officials directly? 5.Should this CJ/SC be allowed to call anybody including PM and even President of Pakistan in the court under Contempt of Law?
Unfortunately, this does not happen anywhere in the world and cannot be allowed in Pakistan either – we need to correct – no doubt in this, our politicians needs to be more educated and sane – no doubt about this , but our CJ/SC also needs to be fair and balance in their actions and should stay away from politics only than this country (Pakistan) can move forwards – the poor people of Pakistan can decide their future with the power of their vote and they do not need any help from CJ/SC. We use to hear slogans "Go back to Barracks" against Military dictators – and now we can "Go back to your Chambers" you midget / useless twice PCO judges..

  19. Rose says:

Who? If you mean J, yes he deserves it.

  20. ali says:

CJ deserved it, its shame to call these people judges.
