PU announces scholarships to honour journalists
Lahore - Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran on Thursday announced Hamid Javed and Moeen Ahmed scholarships at Institute of Communication Studies.
The scholarships will start this year and honour the services of renowned journalists, he said.
This announcement came at a condolence reference organized by Punjab University’s Department of Public Relations and Education Reporters Association in the memory of veteran journalists Hamid Javed, Moeen Ahmed and Shahid Rasheed.
While addressing the reference, Kamran expressed sorrow on behalf of PU teachers, students and employees and said that they shared grief the bereaved families.
Education Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, GCU Vice Chancellor Dr Khaleeq ur Rehman, Prof Dr Shaukat Ali, Prof Dr Shafique Jullandhry, Prof Dr Mujahid Mansoori, Pervaiz Bashir, Khawar Naeem Hashmi, Prof Dr Javed Akram, Arshad Ansari, Sarmad Bashir, Amjad Warraich, Adnan Lodhi, Lala Khalil, families of the late journalists and a large number of education reporters participated in the event.
