JI skeptic of Indian investment permission

MUNAWAR HASSAN

Lahore - Syed Munawwar Hasan, leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, has termed India’s offer of investment to Pakistanis as a trap. In a statement, he said that patriotic citizens and businessmen should not fall prey to this offer as India was a sworn enemy of Pakistan. He stated that this was part of a plan to destabilize Pakistan in every respect. Munawwar opined that India had built 62 dams on Pakistani rivers and cited this as a foremost example of Indian water aggression against Pakistan. He added that India wanted to convert Pakistan into a desert and planned on destroying its agriculture, industry and economy to make it dependant. He further added that the energy crisis in the country was created to compel capitalists from investing here. He argued that 40 percent of Pakistan’s industry had shifted to Bangladesh, and the rest could head to India as a result of the latest investment offer.
