Interpol rejects request for red warrant against Musharraf

Musharraf 9

ISLAMABAD - The Interpol headquarters rejected Pakistan’s request to issue a red warrant against former president and army chief General (r) Pervez Musharraf in the Benazir Bhutto assassination case. The Interpol rejected the request on the grounds that Pakistani authorities and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had sent insufficient documentation for the purpose of issuing a red warrant. According to a statement issued by the Interpol, it could not issue red warrant based on the evidences and documentation offered for the arrest of the former president. Local authorities have again sent a request to the Interpol director with documentation in addition to the investigation reports, copies of statements by the then director-general of ISI’s counter-intelligence wing, Javed Iqbal Cheema, and the former director general of Intelligence Bureau, Ejaz Shah, US-based journalist Marc Siegel’s email to Benazir Bhutto and copies of the orders issued by the Anti-Terrorism Court.

Interpol does not issue red warrant on personal wishes they follow a set criterion. As far as Benazir murder is concerned the present govt is either incapable or does not want to reach the culprits because of fear of reprisal. It seems to be the job of a hidden hand that everyone knows but nobody wants to expose it. Keep our secrets secret.

I don't think Musharraf was involved in the killing of BB but if he was, he did Pakistan a huge favor. I just wish he had gotten rid of zardari and nawaz clan also. Hpefully the next General will.

  3. ASIM says:

Why Cammando is not coming to pakistan?

  4. SLDUA says:

In negation of evidence, Britishers are following the footsteps of Pakistan
