LAHORE - Electricity shortfall on Saturday reached 6,500 MW which led to an increase in unannounced power outages.
According to the Energy Management Cell, due to a shortage of furnace oil supply electricity generation was 12,431 MW while demand increased to 18,517 MW.
Because of this power outages increased all over Punjab. Some residents of urban areas went through at least 14 hours of load shedding, while in some rural areas load shedding increased to 20 hours.
Water shortage has also been reported in several areas of Lahore because of the increased load shedding.
