LONDON - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has been awarded an honorary fellowship by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) in recognition for his contribution to cancer treatment.
He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in recognition of his services to healthcare in Pakistan and overseas, and in particular for his enormous contribution to cancer treatment by establishing the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre.
The fellowship has been awarded for his contribution through the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre.
Imran Khan founded Shaukat Khanum on December 29, 1994. The inspiration for the hospital and research centre came after the death of his mother, Mrs Shaukat Khanum, due to cancer.
The trust uses donations to help patients with cancer through the application of modern methods of curative and palliative therapy free of cost.

A hugely deserved but small recognition for the project, the financing of which he undertook from scratch.
