Archeological dept claims impounded relics

KARACHI - The Archeological department has submitted its authority letter claiming the possession of recently recovered priceless relics in the court of Judicial Magistrate, East here on Wednesday. The letter submitted by the Archeological department prays that since these priceless relics were stolen and they should be handed over to them.
The police had impounded these priceless archeological relics from a trawler searched at Awami Colony, while they were being smuggled within the country.
Two culprits were arrested in the scam while two were granted interim bail.
The archeological department has stated that these recovered relics also include an archaic and tall relic of Buddha. Besides, they also submitted a list of 395 relics after intense research. Archeological Department Director Qasim Ali has said that an appeal had been filed to claim the relics and these relics would be shifted to Karachi Museum after seeking permission. The archeological department will also repair the broken relics before handing them over to the Karachi Museum.
