SC returns govt’s reply in NRO case

SUPREME COURT OF PAKISTAN

The Supreme Court returned the government’s reply submitted in NRO case after objecting to the requests made in the reply.
The court demanded a plea instead of a reply for the review of court's order of July 12.
Earlier today, Attorney General had submitted a written reply in the Supreme Court on behalf of the federation. The reply said that the cabinet was yet to make a decision regarding the letter to Swiss authorities, adding that the prime minister was bound by the constitution to advice by the cabinet.
On July 12, the court order had said that the federation submit a reply regarding the compliance of the directions in paragraph 177 and 178 of the judgement passed in NRO case and failure to comply would result in an appropriate court action under the constitution.

This govt will be remembered as most disrespectful to the Supreme court. On record will remain the fact that all the confrontation with the supreme court was to protect the ill gotten money of an individual who enriched himself by corrupt means and eventually became the President. At the same time the present Apex court will be remembered for its judicial activism mainly against the Pakistan peoples party and not against the corruption of Shareef brothers.

Well said,Sir. May I add that the Judiciary, including some of existing honourable judges, had the President in the Jug for nearly a decade without much outcome, also at the time of election of the President in 2008 no one raised any objection to his candidature including a former Supreme Court Chief Justice as his rival candidate!

supreme court is clearly biased and overstepping its authority.

The way the judiciary targeted the government by constantly interfering in executive and parliamentary domains by overstepping its mandate, it is obvious that there is a different agenda in play. Judicial activism became the new mantra of a restored and assertive judiciary. Oblivious that Pakistan is drifting into lawlessness and the state is rapidly losing its writ over large tracts of urban and rural Pakistan, where ethnic, jihadi and sectarian armed militias have virtually taken over society, and have made law enforcement agencies and courts worthless and irrelevant, the superior judiciary is selectively targeting the government and its functionaries by interfering in all aspects of administration. Their priorities are misplaced. Balochistan is on the verge of separation and the judges devoted months in resolving the mystery of text messages sent over Blackberry by someone in the US.
