Five killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI - At least five persons including a woman were killed and several others injured in fresh spate of target killings in different localities of the city on Sunday.
The police arrested 13 culprits during separate search operations on charges of extortion, kidnappings and killings.
According to police, unknown armed men shot dead a woman identified as Areeba in Lyari. Police said that the incident could be outcome of family disputes or personal enmity.
Police also recovered a bullet riddled and tortured body of an unknown person from Baldia Town. The body was shifted to hospital for postmortem.
Some unidentified persons opened fire in Gulistan Johar area and killed a man. The police recovered two more bullet riddled dead bodies from Shershah area. Police said that the victims were gunned down after kidnapping them.
Jumma, another injured of fire exchange between two rival groups at Al-Asif Square succumbed to his wounds during treatment in hospital.
