Gilani’s scion wins back NA-151

Abdul Qadir Gilani

Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s son and former member of the Punjab Assembly, Abdul Qadir Gilani was on Thursday declared returned successful in the by-poll for NA-151, Multan constituency, a seat falling vacant after his father’s disqualification as PM on charges of committing contempt of court. Abdul Qadir had resigned from his provincial assembly seat to contest election from his father’s constituency on a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) ticket. According to unofficial results, Abdul Qadir bagged 64,628 votes, closely out-voting rival Shaukat Hayat Bosan who secured 60,532 votes. The ECP had earlier announced setting up 245 polling stations for 308,871 voters across the Multan constituency, of which 64 had been declared sensitive, and a public holiday had been declared in the city.

    • Nelta John says:

Gilani has made his name in the constituency.

    • Jamshaid Khan says:

What U think? In my view this election was rigged by CJ of S, court. This is a alram that courts should stops hear against PP. Otherwise PP will come back in Govt next time also. I requst CJ to stop cases against PP otherwise CJ is going to help PP to win election. CJ will be responsiable if PP win? I was upst that PTI & PML N fail to stop win PP in Multan. Good Luck Pakistan.

  2. Zia says:

He won fair and square just like ganja wins. But all these choors Inshaallah will lose in general elections.

    • Grazar says:

Thats exactly right. 'Laanut' on those who voted for him.

"Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

      True shame on the people.

  4. Imran Gill says:

Time and again it is proved that shenanigans of establishment and one sided propaganda against PPP could not deter voters to vote for their party.
Only PPP is the party which could change system of exploitation in Pakistan and that's why it is not allowed to work freely by different organs of establishment.

  5. Furqan Ali says:

shocking for me at least! are we blind?

  6. zainab bibi says:

    shame also on divided opposition

  7. Derawal39 says:

Wake up all you dreamers, who have started believing in their own propaganda and the TV anchors, who think they can make or break any government. Please note that the PPP has not lost any bye election even in Punjab where it faced a hostile provincial administration. In Multan Imran Khan did not have the courage to field a PTI candidate for the fear of a defeat but supported Mr. Bosan behind the scenes, PML-N & JI (old IJI partners) openly supported him but the result is before you. Imagine what would have been the margin of victory if the PTI & PML-N had fielded their candidates. So Wake Up , stop dreaming and put in some honest hard work!
