Malik directs police to remain alert on long march

REHMAN MALIK MINISTER

ISLAMABAD - Adviser to prime minister on interior affairs, Rehman Malik has directed Islamabad police to remain alert on the occasion of long march by Defence of Pakistan Council.
In a directive to Inspector General Islamabad Police‚ Malik said‚ Police, Rangers and Frontier Corps should be put on alert to avert any untoward incident during the long march.
He said that checking should be tightened on all entry and exit points of the city and patrolling be increased.
The Interior Advisor also ordered aerial surveillance of the area.
He said that a vigilant eye should be kept on every suspicious person.
Both Rawalpindi and Islamabad police were directed to extend full cooperation to each other to ensure security for the long march.
