DPC rally: Capital enveloped in security blanket

ISLAMABAD - Following reports of terrorist attacks on Difa-e-Pakistan rally, Advisor to PM on Interior Rehman Malik on Monday issued strict security orders directing law enforcement agencies to remain on high alert in Federal Capital.
According to a press release issued here on Monday, Rehman Malik also directed the authorities concerned to keep aerial vigilance through helicopter and methodical checking at all entry and exit points of the metropolis.
He directed Police, Rangers and Frontier corps to remain alert in the wake of intelligence report claiming suicide attacks or remote control bombing on the DPC rally in Islamabad.
He told the IG police to further enhance the security arrangements by increasing police patrolling and keeping eye on suspicious persons and materials.
Islamabad Police following orders of Rehman Malik has deployed 2000 additional contingent of police force at all sensitive places of the Federal Capital.
Traffic Police is also on a high alert and controlling flow of traffic vigilantly.
Barbed wire have been erected around congested commercial locations in the Blue Area, Islamabad.
All the SHOs, ASs, DSPs were present to monitor the situation.
It must be mentioned here that stringent security measures were taken following directives of Interior Ministry.

    “long march” towards Islamabad early in the morning after a night’s rest in Gujarat. Earlier, thousands of people joined a convoy of buses, trucks and cars, many carrying the black and white striped flags of the DPC, on the 275-kilometre (170-mile) journey from Lahore to Islamabad.

      Nato supply is opened already. Now what will be the outcome of all these marches. Do you truly think that they will closed the supply line again ???
      Please help us get electricity, schools, medicine, and food at normal affordable prices. Have mercy on us, raise these issue rather than …. .
