There is no contempt of court law in the country: Gilani

GILANI

LAHORE - Former prime minister and senior vice chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Sunday said that constitution is supreme but it is the parliament that makes a constitution.
While going to his hometown Multan by train Gilani said that the law of the contempt of court can be discussed as it is not 100 percent right.
He said that the judiciary and elected politicians have immunity. He also said that there is no contempt of court law in the country.
“We follow the parliament on every issue including that of a dual citizenship,” Gilani said.
The ex-premier said that he was punished as he supported the Seraiki province.
“I never wanted to be politically martyred,” he said.

With such a pious name, yet criticizing Allah`s creature…shame on you….with people like you we dont need enemy. Equip yourself the education & knowledge of one person in the entire SC bench which heard the case & hv fully read the entire case & detailed ruling before you criticise…..the case of first term Bush election was entirely decided by one judge when otherwise proved that Al Gore won, but nobody crticised nor was appealed or challenged…..that is the power of SC…..bcz people understood that such an action by Al Gore wud hv delayed formation of govt & the entire system wud hv come to a standstill…that is how things in a developed country are percieved, not like you…..the same judge & SC that you are criticizing had to accept our 2008 election results although it has been proved that 35 million votes were fake ( accepted by NADRA & EC ).This was enough to call this govt illegal, did they do it ? no , bcz inorder to let the new democracy take root….so, give the devil its due, will you !

      • Guest says:

If 35 million votes were fake wht was EC doing ? Why a PIL was not moved against it ?Judiciary must give judgements based on the facts in form of evidences and witness statements presented before it, and not by what the newspaper reading middle class would like to hear. If there were enough grounds to declare this Govt 'illegal" based on 35 million fake votes, but, for sake of democracy take root, it was not declared 'illegal' that itself smacks of impropriety, doesn't it ? The fact is this that there is an ego clash. Judiciary is being selective and biased.

This idiot's son will win the election with 50000 margin on July 19.

Who is the idiot then ????????????????????????????????????

  4. ASIM says:

Infact there is NO LAW in the country.Had there any law you would never become PM.
How come convicted and criminals are holding Top positions in pakistan.
This is a unique event in the world history.

  5. krahim says:

The Constitution made by Parlimentarians of Pakistan only serves their vested interest and has little to do with the common person. Now that the Chief Justice and the full bench has taken up the Shield to defend the basic rights of the ordinary citizens there is hue and cry from these crocodiles asking others from abroad to shed tears on their behalf.

I can't wait for gillani to die so I can send my dog to pee on his grave :)

Asides from ad hominem attacks the comments section has nothing worthwhile.

On the contrary..they reflect the will of the people and I usually enjoy readings all kinds of comment even when people resort to profanities and expletives!

  8. Daddy says:

I can sympathise with gillani and understand why he has to travel by train. Poor guy said he did not even own a car in his declaration of assetts statement. Just goes to prove that ppp really is the party of the poor. Next time he wants to travel, I will buy his one way ticket to hell.

  9. Shahid says:

Supreme Court convicted and removed an elected Prime Minister. Now, the bye-election will give verdict on Supreme Court's verdict. If Abdul Qadir Gilani wins, it will mean eggs on the faces of Supreme Court judges who gave decision against Yusuf Raza Gilani. Parliament and the people of Pakistan are truly supreme.

  10. Saqib Tahir says:

Gilani is right. 2003 ordinance by mush does not exist as this was not approved, so Gilani is convicted under a law that does not exist. This is a state of Pakistani supreme court.

Political decisions of a politically motivated court deserve to be passively resisted by political means. These judges will be remembered like Moulvi Mushtaq or anew aril haq.
