GCU ASA condemns appointment of retired professors as VCs

LAHORE - The GCU Academic Staff Association strongly protests against the continuation of retired persons in administrative positions. The ASA Executive Council has taken strong exception to the appointment of a retired University Professor on Contract as acting Vice Chancellor GCU. The ASA executive council also expressed serious concern over the continued vacancy of deans in all of the GCU faculties. The posts of dean of Science, Social Science & Languages have been lying vacant for a long time and there is no indication of there being filled and the near future. The ASA Executive Council expressed solidarity with FPUASA on the issue of non-release funds to the Universities and the illegal termination of ShaheedBenezirBhutto University Faculty by the Vice Chancellor. The can also demanded the re-instatement of SBBU faculty. The ASA GCU Executive Council also protested against the reinstatement of the Sindh University Vice Chancellor, who had earlier been sent on forced leave after the murder Dr Bashir Channar.
