ISLAMABAD - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to launch an operation to remove all illegal structures and encroachment at historical Saidpur village to revive its original rustic look.
CDA Chairman Engineer Farkhand Iqbal on Tuesday said that all illegal structures and encroachments would be removed in Saidpur village to revive its rustic look.
The CDA chairman said this on the occasion of his visit to model village Saidpur and Sector F-6/4 to inspect developmental activities in the areas.
The officials concerned of environment, sanitation, enforcement, municipal administration, and engineering wing were also present during the visit.
The chairman said that rich cultural and traditional heritage is the real identity of Saidpur village while foreign as well as local visitors have been showing their deep interest in the cultural activities initiated by the CDA in Saidpur village.
The CDA chairman directed carpeting of road and parking to avoid hindrance. He further ordered formation of an authority to ensure sanitation on daily basis to avoid unhygienic condition.
RAWALPINDI: A youngster tried to commit suicide by self immolating himself due to domestic problems and unemployment.
According to details, resident of Gawalmandhi Muhammad Ashfaq put fuel on his body and then with the help of matchstick set himself ablaze. The nearby residents took him to PIMS where his condition was serious and he is said to be suffering from second degree burns. Police has lodged a case in this regard. ONLINE
ANF seizes 15kg heroin
ISLAMABAD: The Anti Narcotic Force arrested one person for attempting to smuggle a large amount of heroin.
ANF officials deployed at Benazir International Airport said that Zulfiqar, a resident of Sargodha, was a passenger of Abu Dhabi flight and upon checking his luggage the ANF officials found 15 kilogram heroin. He was carrying 11 kg brown heroin and 4 and a half kg white heroin
According to officials, Zulfiqar was attempting to smuggle heroin to Greece via Abu Dhabi. The ANF took him into custody and started interrogations. ONLINE
