KARACHI - The Sindh police signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) on Friday. According to a statement, AFP Coordination Officer Marzio Dare met with the Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) at CPO. The statement added that the Sindh Police Forensics Division would be given two special vans consisting of specialised mobile units for collection of scientific data in the case of serious crimes. These units would start functioning in the next two months.
Marzio Dare said that during the next fiscal year various programmes will be instituted over during the next fiscal year in the policing and forensics divisions. He also stated that a comprehensive training module was also under preparation as per the requirements of the provincial police. The IGP lauded the Australian assistance towards enhancing the capacity of the police. This would help to improve crime solving and improve the overall performance of the police, he added.
