ISLAMABAD - The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Thursday recommended a reduction in petroleum prices by up to Rs 6.44 per litre. The OGRA has dispatched the summary to slash the prices of petroleum products to the Petroleum Ministry. The OGRA summary sent to the prime minister recommends cutting down: petrol price by Rs. 5.02 per litre; hi-octane by Rs 6.44, high-speed diesel by Rs 2.48 and the price of light diesel by Rs 2.86. If implemented it would be a record second time reduction in POL prices in two weeks. CNG prices are also expected to come down by Rs 2 per kilogramme with reduction in petroleum prices.

Why can’ t OGRA round off the figures? Is this a big deal. Specially when government does not issue coins of value less than Rupee one.
