Mubasher Lucman offers his side of events
LAHORE - Mired in controversy over an interview of Malik Riaz, Dunya News’ former anchor, Mubasher Lucman, has come up with a video on YouTube, trying to clarify his position in the issue of now infamous footage leak almost two weeks ago. He says that he did nothing wrong, that the interview was not planted, that it was not an attempt to scandalise judiciary and that if any anchor of other news channels wants to question him, he is available. Mubasher claimed he wasn’t naming names or providing details of that day’s events. “I am here to explain myself because I owe it to my family, my children, my friends and most importantly, my viewers,” he said and added, “For those who believe in truth, no explanation is needed; and for those who do not believe in truth, no explanation can be given.” In the 22-odd minutes two-part video, he says that he wants to clear the situation about some objections raised by his critics. He also offered an explanation as to why he was unable to come on air or online soon. “My media channel had suspended me, that’s why I was unable to come on air but now that I have resigned from my channel, I have chosen this very channel [YouTube] – the same where that behind-the-scenes video was leaked – to offer my version of the events.” He said he resigned from Dunya TV on his own will as the channel was under pressure because of him, and added that he was not going anywhere and would continue to reside in Lahore.

No news media can ever claim that it's neutral, it could be rightest, leftist, imperialist, capitalist, going by the ideology or management policy. Malik Riaz was there to explain his side, both Mubashar & Mehar assisted him in putting up his view point through a set of appropirate questions. What' wrong with it? It's a general practice that guest & host agree on the interview layout, type of questions & the questions not to be asked. Is this hue and cry for dumping the Dr. Iftikhar case, sorry that may not happen!

thats funny, when Talat Hussain or Dr. Shahid were forced by their company heads to do somthing planned and unethical, they resigned, but Mubashar bechara was FORCED to do this interview!!! such crap..and in the response he did not validate that why he did this, he just kept giving examples that people around the world do it…then you are no different Mubashar!!! i expected better from you…the ISF expected better..really!!!
statements such as 'For those who believe in truth, no explanation is needed' are terribly presumptious and sweeping. I am sick of such cliched talk. I believe in the truth and I definitely think some explanation should be offered, otherwise by default it doesn't look too good for Mr Luqman.

I think he presented a reasonable explaination and it is knwon fact that politician sends sms and call anchors during running live shows. I don't see any conspiracy from him but from Mehr side.
He said nothing during the leaked video which is pure planted but she said many thing which are objectionable so show some respect and adopt a positive attitude towards him or any other human being. Due to his bold attitude he has created so many enemies that in the result his friends are hesitant to support him as well and this is so wrong.

All the guys who hv posted their comments above, whether u believe it or not, all the interviews given by politicians, businessmen or any public person are always planted, and they are arranged as to what questions will be put to the interview. Only difference in this case is that video has been released with some political motive by somebody who may have links to some political quarters who see their political interests served. Big money seems to hv been invested by certain political forces(PMLN) to release this video. CJ son 's corruption issue should not be mixed with this.
