PMA gives 72 hour ultimatum

LAHORE - Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Punjab on Sunday demanded the Punjab government to announce service structure for doctors within 72 hours or a province-vide strike call would be made. The PMA in its central council’s meeting held at PMA House, passed many resolutions including the immediate withdrawal of ineffective and failed autonomy to the medical institutions. Prof Dr Ashraf Nizami presided over the meeting while 36 district branches from all over the province participated in the meeting. The house unanimously resolved to condemn the indifferent attitude of the Punjab government and the bureaucracy on health service structure. PMA gave a 72 hours ultimatum to the government after which they said a province-vide agitation call would be given.
