500 tubewells to be installed in Sindh

Tubewells

KARACHI - As many as 500 new tubewells would be installed in Sindh to help control water logging and salinity and promote agriculture.
This was stated by the Chief Secretary of Sindh, Raja Muhammad Abbas. He said that these tubewells would be run through the solar energy. The out of order tubewells would also be repaired to make them functional.

One Response to 500 tubewells to be installed in Sindh

  1. Dr Ali Hassan Rind says:

In the era of crisis of engergy the shift of Tubewells from Electricity to the solar energy to combat the menace of waterlogging & salinity and to provide water for agriculture is a novel idea for Sindh province. What I wanted to suggest here that instead of leap to install 500 Tubewells in a single go, we should better to have gone for a poilt project of 50 tubewells in the different ecological zones of Sindh to have a basic data regarding its sustainability. But I hope that the relevant department might have a copious data on it, wherether such sort of tubewells are successful enough.

Any way it is good idea. we wish to have beneficial results for farming community of Sindh province.

    Dr. A.H. Rind
