Gilani moves to President’s House with family

Gilani 14

ISLAMABAD - Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has moved to the President’s House along with his family members. A private TV channel reported on Saturday that a presidential suite of four bedrooms on the sixth floor had been set up for Gilani, who remained loyal to the Pakistan People’s Party and kept flouting Supreme Court’s orders on write a letter to Swiss authorities for reopening corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari. Earlier, Gilani had decided to live in Islamabad Club but changed the decision because of security concerns. Gilani will try to run the show from the Presidency, and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will just be the public face as prime minister, and an agreement has also been reached with the new PM in this regard, according to media reports citing sources. The reports added that Gilani’s bureaucratic aides such as Nargis Sethi, Khushnud Lashari and others would continue working on their positions and thus Raja would be dependent and surrounded by the cronies of the former PM.

  11. Observer (UK) says:

Possibly Mr Gilani is the co chairman of the PPP again with real power behind would be president Asif Zardari

  12. Observer (UK) says:

Possibly Mr Gilani will be given the post of co chairperson of the PPP because most probably the court will force Asif Zardari to give up one post i.e., President of the republic or co chairperson of the party. AZ will never relinquish the post of the President as he will lose the immunity he is enjoying at present. Mr Gilani may become the co chairman but real man behind this will again be Mr Asif Zardari.

    • Bismark says:

Totally wrong analysis. Co-chairperson can never be relinquished to Gilani. It is not unconstitutional and the other day LahoreHighCourt(Though a partisan court) has also said that it is not unconstitutional, though maybe not moral. Gillani's idealogiocal leanings do not make him fit for this post. I am sure Zardari's choice would be Faryal Talpur in such a scenario

    • czar says:

Totally wrong analysis. I am sure Zardari's choice wud be Faryal Talpur. Gillani's rightist thinking do not make him fit for chairperson of a center-left party.

Zidari has been taking all the money that uk and usa give to fight taliban and putting it in their own accounts.

They don’t care about people of pakistan.

Is democracy for the political leaders or the masses of the country??

  20. Shahid says:

Ex-Prime Minister Gilani should be shown utmost respect. He showed extraordinary courage in defying blatantly illegal orders of Iftikhar Chaudhry and in the process was forced to lose his job. The Dual PCO Judge Iftikhar Chaudhry should be shown the door and tried under Article 6. He has himself issued a judgement directing that anybody who takes oath under PCO in future should be tried under Article 6 and past validations were wrong. So, why not start from him and his cronies in judiciary.

Gllani is so much used to the luxries that he cannot live nowhere alse but the Presidemt's House. Why does he not go back to Multan and get the taste oh heat like others.
What a pity that New PM has agreed to the conditions that he will be puppet and dance to the tunes of Zardari and Gtlani. Shame to you Raja Ashraf.

The big question is who will zardari share his bedroom with? Will it be gillani, his wife or his daughter? Afterall, zardari is not going to give something for nothing :)

  32. shoukat ur rehman says:

Gilani , If you do not mind that I am going to say you , It means you are fordgery sufi , pir because your wife is with the Bad character Zardari. It is shame for you because you always claim that my forefathers were religious but you give or sell your wife and daughter for power. May allah ask you about your cruel character which you played during as PM.
