Pakistan wants nothing less than an apology from US: FO

ISLAMABAD - Foreign Secretary Jaleel Abbas Jilani said on Tuesday that Pakistan would not accept any short of an apology from the United States over the Salala incident. US aircraft bombed two Pakistani border checkposts last November and killed 24 soldiers. Pakistan angrily closed NATO supply routes to Afghanistan. Talking to reporters after a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Standing Committee, Jilani said that US congressmen had started accepting Pakistan’s stance. He said the Pakistani government would neither budge from its stance nor would it accept any argument to avoid an apology. He called for a comprehensive strategy to avoid any future attack similar to Salala.
