Following SC ruling, US hopes Pakistan will solve internal issue justly

WASHINGTON - Following the Supreme Court’s ruling that Yousaf Raza Gilani has ceased to be prime minister of Pakistan, the United States on Tuesday expected Islamabad to resolve “any of these internal issues in a just and transparent manner and in accordance with Pakistan’s own laws and Constitution.” “Well, we have said all along that we expect that Pakistan will resolve any of these internal issues in a just and transparent manner and in accordance with Pakistan’s own laws and own Constitution, “ State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nuland said. “Our understanding is that the Pakistani government itself is meeting now to decide how it goes forward from here,” she added, in response to a question at the daily briefing.
