Army doesn’t want to fight against its own people: Kayani
MIRANSHAH - Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani on Monday said that the Pakistan Army doesn’t want to fight with its own people but it was compelled to launch operation against terrorists in Waziristan.
The COAS visited the area and inaugurated Sainkai Ragi Zai Cadet College. He also reviewed security situation and ongoing developmental work in South Wazirstan Agency.
Addressing a ceremony during the inauguration of Cadet College he said that the college would be built with the cost of Rs 500 million.
COAS said that infrastructure would be built in South and North Waziristan. Besides, a third route would be opened in the area for trade with Afghanistan. Kayani said army has started as many as 121 uplift projects in Malakand Division and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
The Corps Commander Peshawar briefed the COAS about the several ongoing developmental projects in the area.
Meanwhile, General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani also held meeting with tribal elders and assured them full cooperation.

@Cobrajock, I am a Punjabi, and I am extremely regrettful over your display of provincialism. Why did u not answer about dead bodies of Baluch people daily found in Balochistan. Who is responsible? Who is responsible for dead body of a Sindhi leader found in Sindh? Why all the massacre of people is going on in KP, and Balochistan. People of KP suffer becoz of policies made by Punjabi establishment. Jihadi organizations flourish in Punjabi and these ideas were put into practice by establishment dominated by Punjabies.

Agree with cobrajack in so called punjabi army there are many pakhtoons, balochis, and sindhis.

There is predominance of Punjabi generals and Pakhtoons and other people are in small numbers and they cant influence policies made by Punjabi dominant military establishement. All decisions since 1977 were made without taking into confidence Pakhtoon or Baloch people.

This newspaper suppresses the voice of people of smaller provinces and publishes whatever rubbish the Punjabi mindset displays in their comments, such as @Cobrajock. I am a Punjabi and gave my reasonable response to above@Cobrajock but this newspaper blocked my comments. This is domineering mindset of Lahori press.

The presence of Pakistani Army in balochistan , abducting and killing innocent baloch on daily basis, is indorsement claim of baloch people that balochistan is occupied state and thats why task given to panjabi army to eliminate baloch nation

we must be realistic when criticizing army.Who is killing shool children,who is killing doctors,teachers and professors.Who is damaging elctric pylons, who is derailing trains, who is kidnapping people,who is laying ambush for FC and military convoys,who is damaging pipe lines.These qusions must be answered
We must find roots of this in history since 1980. @mukhtar, all this is the inevitable result of wrong, ill-advised, and unrealistic policies adopted by the estabishment since 1980, and thsi establishment is dominated by a certain group belonging to a certain area of Pakistan. I endorse @Aziz Ullah Bagti's comments. I am a Punjabi and have lived in Balochistan.
Why 95% of terror attacks happen in provinces other than Punjab ?????????
@J.K, why do u ask me? Do u not live in Pakistan? Do u hv memory and can you analyse policies adopted by establishment since 1947? You r also a citizen and you must understand problems of ur country and shud not catch up what is transmitted on media (dominated by powerful section of society)? Army is not dominated by punjabis. Every one has the oppurtunity to join the army. They get promotions based on their skills and knowledge. If Balochis and Sindhis are dumb then its not the fault of Punjabis. Why blame Punjabis for being smater than the other people? Is there jealousy? This is the mindset of retarded people who cannot accept that others are smarter than them.
In response to the above comments, has anyone thought that maybe, just maybe, Punjabis are smarter than other and thats why they get to higher ranks in the army. Why is everyone so jealous if Punjabis succeed where others fail?
