Aitzaz, Bokhari banned in Sindh courts

6-14-2012_110112_1

KARACHI/RAWALPINDI - Senior lawyers Aitzaz Ahsan and Zahid Bokhari, counsel for Malik Riaz, have been banned from entering all bars of Sindh.
Karachi Bar Association President Mehmoodul Hassan on Saturday said both lawyers would be responsible for the consequences if they tried to enter any bar in the province. He said President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani were behind the conspiracy against Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
The KBCA president said contempt of court proceedings should be initiated against Zahid Bokhari since no lawyer could become a spokesman for his client. He said lawyers would boycott court proceedings on Monday against what he called a conspiracy against the apex court.
Meanwhile, lawyers of Rawalpindi expressed solidarity with Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and staged a protest against Malik Riaz’s allegations on Saturday. The protesting lawyers also burnt effigies of some politicians. They observed a complete boycott of duty and gathered at Kachahri Chowk. They chanted slogans in favor of CJP and against Malik Riaz. The lawyers said they would foil every conspiracy against independent judiciary.

Are there in Pakistan no stronger laws to punish these types of ill-minded personalities? They must be dealt with tougher laws and lifetime ban must be imposed on these culprits.

Why ban these two lawyers from entering the bars of Sindh?

Are lawyers not free to represent whom they choose to?

Why dont the bar association prevent lawyers who reprensent murderes from entering the bars of sindh?

IIs not this a form of judicial dictatorship?

Iftikhar must stop meddling in Bar matters. Iftikhar would never have been reinstated without efforts of Aitzaz. In fact, Bar should demand resignation of notorious Iftikhar and make him undergo thorough interrogation. Arsalan took money on his behalf. This is for sure. Which father would not know what his son is doing? I am sure there must be many other liyigants who were fleeced by Iftikhar and Arsalan. The problem is as long as he is CJ, they cannot dare to come forward. For all his bad reputation, Malik Riaz has shown courage.

  9. Patriot says:

Babar Awan's big mouth and arrogance got him in trouble. Aitzaz is next. Lets see how quickly he falls from grace.

  10. Shahid Malik says:

Banning entry of Aitzaz Ahsan & Zahid Bukhari from Bars is condemnable. Iftikhar must stop politicking.

  11. Iftikhar says:

Iftikhar is destroying Pakistan by oversteping his jurisdiction. States fail if institutions overstep their jurisdictions. USA would nt be USA, and UK wud nt be UK, if their institutions start oversteping their limits. This CJ is doing politics of power . In last 4 yrs he cud not govern judiciary and corruption is increasing in judiciary, how come he could improve functioning of a big state.

Atizaz will just go home and rewrite THE INDUS SAGA and state that the Bhaghwat Gita was written on the right bank of the Indus.. Then you have your goose cooked.

I think its best to keep a pestering mosquito in a confined space and use the electric racket only when necessary.
