LAHORE - Additional IG/CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tareen has directed the City, Model Town and Cantt Division SPs to ensure foolproof security arrangements in different markets and business areas. He issued these directions on Friday, during a meeting with a 13 member delegation of office bearers belonging to different trade and business associations.
Tareen directed the officers to hold meetings with their respective traders associations for chalking-out security plan for Ramzan-ul-Mubarik.
He said a peaceful environment in the city will be ensured in mutual cooperation with the traders and citizens so that trade activities could flourish.
Tareen pointed out that the installation of CCTV cameras in the city’s business centres and markets were of prime importance in identifying criminals.
He also urged the trades to deploy guards in the markets and noted that this step will help in improving the internal security of the markets.
He said the Lahore police was striving to make the city a citadel of peace and added that criminal elements will be dealt with an iron fist. The traders, besides giving different suggestions, also pointed out some of the problems confronting by them which were addressed by the additional IG/CCPO.
