SC resumes hearing in NA speaker ruling case

SUPREME COURT OF PAKISTAN

A three-member bench of the apex court comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, and Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja resumed hearing in National Assembly Speaker ruling case on Friday, according to a news channel.
The petitions were filed by Imran Khan, Khawaja Asif, and Azhar Siddique challenging the ruling of the NA Speaker on PM disqualification issue.
Prime minister’s consel Aitzaz Ahsan requested the court for the constitution of a larger bench to hear the petitions.
Earlier in March 24 ruling, National Assembly Speaker Fehmida Mirza had rejected the reference sent to her office under clause (2) of Article 63.
