SC annoyed over non-reinstatement of Investigating officer in Hajj scam

SUPREME COURT OF PAKISTAN

ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court Thursday expressing annoyance over non-reinstatement of Investigative police officer Hussain Asghar in Hajj corruption case has sought explanation from Secretaries of Establishment and Interior Ministry.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the proceedings of the case.
The SC stated it had ordered to reinstate Hussain Asghar Inspector General Gilgit-Baltistan and his team which was investigating the 2010 Hajj corruption scam, but the order has not been materialized.
The Chief Justice said to Deputy Attorney General Shafiq Chandio that judicial orders were complied regarding police in Balochistan case, but orders of court are being put aside in Hajj corruption case.
The Deputy AGP failed to satisfy the court in his answer. The court sought an explanation from Establishment and Interior Affairs secretaries regarding the non-compliance of court orders and adjourned the hearing till June 5.
