Over 39 cleft palate deformations performed at surgery camp

ISLAMABAD - More than 30 procedures of cleft palate, burn contractures and other body organ deformations were successfully performed by a team of expert plastic surgeons at Benazir Bhutto Hospital. The Free Plastic Surgery Camp will continue till Monday. The Plastic Surgery Camp has been organized by Professor Hamid Hasan, Prof of Surgery Rawalpindi Medical College. He urged the burn patients to come to the camp for getting the treatment facilities. The renowned Plastic Surgeon Dr Charles Viva along with a team of Pakistani surgeons, paramedical and nursing staff is conducting plastic surgery procedures in the hospital. Prof Hamid Hasan said in a statement that plastic surgery is a costly treatment which every one can’t afford. Specialists in this specific discipline is also very limited. Dr Charles Viva with a highly skilled medical team was visiting the country for providing solace to the ailing humanity, who cannot afford the expenditures of plastic surgery. Professor Hamid further informed that dedicated team of doctors and paramedic is engaged in providing medical treatment facilities to the patients even during off days and beyond duty hours so that maximum patients could be treated.
