Walk your talk, Imran asks Nawaz

imran-khan-640x480

ISLAMABAD - Responding to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Nawaz Sharif’s announcement that he was willing to approach all opposition parties, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to form an alliance against the government, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said on Tuesday he would talk to the PML-N only if their members resign from the national and provincial assemblies.
Addressing a press conference, Imran said the PML-N had lost its credibility as it betrayed the PTI and other parties on several occasions and backed off from its stance on the ‘memogate’ scandal. He said the PTI would launch Pakistan’s largest protest against Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani if he refuses to accept his disqualification. “We will wait until the Election Commission completes the process of Gilani’s disqualification,” said Imran.
Imran acknowledged Gilani’s right to appeal against the court verdict and said that the PTI will respond only after all the legal processes are completed. The PTI chief said that he had formed a three-member committee consisting of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Javed Hashmi and Dr Arif Alvi to hold talks with different political parties regarding the future course of action.
Meanwhile, INP reported that PTI has decided to file a reference with the Supreme Court against Prime Minister Gilani. The decision was taken during the meeting of PTI Central Working Committee. The PTI would file the reference regarding the qualification of the prime minister after his conviction and would seek SC direction on whether Gilani could still remain a prime minister after being convicted. The meeting also decided that the party would hold a rally on Constitution Avenue outside the Parliament House on May 6 to express solidarity with the apex court.

It appears that Imran Khan wants to influence the court.

  3. Zishan says:

Mr Imran go ahead, down Gilani from his post

  4. ali says:

Point scoring only. Mr Loser Khan wants to compete Nawaz Sharif. Was he sleeping before?

  5. tariq says:

smart move but PTI must make sure that it does not allow PML (N) to take the intiative if things come to such a pass.

  6. Salman Zafar says:

PTI should not trust PMLN… PMLN is not real opposition… They dont want to lose power of Punjab Govt.

  7. adeel says:

All are requested to join Rally on 6 May at D-Chowk Islamabad

  8. Ashiq Hussain says:

Judiciary aur fauj key kandhon par he sawar rehna….!

  9. Tugral beg says:

It is not Imran's fault that SC's decision is vague and its final shape is yet to come.
It is not Gillani who has been convicted but ipso facto Zardari is the real target.Let us not forget that Zardari's father-in-law preferred Pakistan's break-up over giving up his lust for power. This time Zardari has unleashed Sindh card along with Sarikistan bogey. Wether he would succeed or fail depends on Imran,SC and Army's comprehension of the real picture.

    • KAMRAN says:

Good post. Bravo for having the guts to call it like it is. You are absolutely correct in saying that ZAB caused the breakup of Pakistan.

    • Zishan says:

If ZAB is more serious & give attention to the demand of Bangladeshi then Pakistan will not broke up, Alas he realize it at the end time of the '71 war.

Is ka Kia banay gha jab is ki tsunami badnami ban jaiy ghi

  11. Hanif says:

Your party leader Javed Hashmi actively supported PPP in recent By Elections in Multan. Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood state that they do not accept Gillani as PM, but on same day Imran Usman from same party has stated on TV that he considers Gill as legitimate PM till his appeal is decided. What is the reality?

  12. Uzair says:

Again going to court, why does Imran Khan wants to do everything through court. Why cant they protest to force govt out. Iftikhar Chaudhry has to do everything then these tsunamians should wear bangles and sit at home.

    • pakistanfirst says:

cuz imran khan believes in the power of justice and judicial processes. he wants to strengthen democracy…all politicians should know that they, like the common man, are not above the law.

    • Farhan says:

these situations should not be dealt with emotions…

  13. Mir. says:

Imran Khan has made his decision, if he has chose between AZ and NS, he will back AZ and Gill. It is so sad that IK has such an outlook where his personal biases overshadow the need of the hour, which is that RULE OF LAW must win.

    • Tugral beg says:

Look at Imran's past.He was the first to dig Surrey Place of AZ.He was also the first to reject BB at Oxford and later on her philosophy of plunder via and with AZ ostensibly pretending that she was merely an innocent bystander. On the other side Imran fully realises that brothers Sharifof are operator in the same turf but with a different style.
Thus he is rightly opposed to all of them.

  14. ishrat salim says:

IK / PTI has made a correct decision…to wait till all legal course by PM is exhausted….PTI has to follow law unlike others & not jump into street on emotions….PML N has exposed themselves….just want to grab power…come what may…not prepared to wait till detailed judgement comes…..which has gone to its disadvantage……such negative actions by PML N was pre-mature….which further shows immaturity within its ranks of advisors & dictatorial attitude of both brothers which is detrimental for the future of Pakistan…..that is the reason…..PML N has become a regional party confined to N Punjab only…….they hv not learnt anything from their past mistakes…..it seems.

  15. Salman Zafar says:

    HAHAHA… SERIOUSLY….

  16. Khalid Javed says:

LOL………… PML-N & PPP have been doing net practice during the past four years. Now they are ready to have a fixed match in the next elections……………. It was IK & his party who was real opposition.

  17. Salman Zafar says:

because PMLN is also part of govt… and protecting Zardari and Gilani..
