Oxford to organise a talk on the Afghanistan conflict

LAHORE - The Oxford University Press (OUP) is organising a talk today (Thursday), by veteran diplomat, Riaz Mohammad Khan, on his book ‘Afghanistan and Pakistan: Conflict, Extremism, and Resistance to Modernity’.
The book examines the conflict in Afghanistan from Pakistan’s point of view and analyses the roots of that country’s ambiguous policy-supporting the United States on one hand and showing empathy for the Afghan Taliban on the other.
Riaz Mohammad Khan has served as Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary as well as ambassador to several countries.
OUP Pakistan Regional Sales Director Tariq Haq will introduce Riaz Mohammad Khan at the talk being held at the Oxford Bookshop in Mini Market.
