LONDON - The ship may have sunk, but their careers have done anything but. Fifteen years after ‘Titanic's phenomenal success-those 11 Oscars, those gazillion bucks-Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are at the top of the fame game, amassing nine Oscar nominations and one win between them. One thing that hasn't changed, though, is their bawdy sense of humour with each other-Winslet has often said DiCaprio is like a brother to her, and she once famously told Vanity Fair, "To me, he's just smelly, farty Leo." That wicked sense of humour was on full display when the actress recently looked back on their fateful pairing 15 years ago and took stock of the, ahem, hefty things he's done since. "We do look very different, we're older," Winslet said while guesting on a show as reported by the Daily Mail. "Leo's 37, I'm 36-were 21 and 22 when we made that film. You know, he's fatter now-I'm thinner. It's true though!" Gotta give it to Winslet, the lady knows how to milk a good laugh. The ribbing is all the more hilarious-and ironic-given that, early in her career, Winslet was constantly scrutinised and picked apart for her gorgeously zaftig figure. DiCaprio wasn't the only victim of her playful jabs, however: The actress also poked fun at herself. While describing the experience of re-watching ‘Titanic’ recently-in 3-D, no less-she quipped: "The second my face came on I was like, 'Oh my God, make it stop, switch it off, somebody make it stop, is that what we looked like? Oh my God, look what I looked like and look what Leo looks like!'" Hey, the weight jokes may fly fast and furious, but at least you can't accuse Winslet of lacking a big fat sense of humour.
