LAHORE - Calling off their strike after ‘successful’ talks with the government authorities on Thursday, train drivers announced to go back to the job across the country.
Sources said the Train Drivers Association held talks with Railways authorities to get their demands meet. The employees claimed that Railways had held out assurance to fulfill their demands within few days.
Earlier, Railways minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, taking notice of the disruption in rail service, had called the protesters for negotiations.
Halting train engines, the rivers had staged protest demonstrations across the country, bringing the rail service to a standstill.
