Pension for SC, LHC judges families increased

ISLAMABAD - The Federal Government on Wednesday decided to increase the family pension of judges of Supreme Court and High Court from 50% to 75%.
The decision was taken at a meeting between Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Moula Baksh Chandio and Advisor to PM on Finance, Dr Hafeez Sheikh held at Law Ministry.
Law Minister Moula Baksh Chandio said that it is the due right of the families of judges because all other families of civil servants were getting higher pension.
The family pension of all civil servants has been increased from 50% to 75% by the Finance Division, he said. The increase was not extended to the widows of Supreme Court and High Courts as it requires amendment in the fifteen schedule of the constitution, he said.
