I respect teachers: Mazhar

KARACHI - The Sindh government is taking all measures to improve the educational standard in the province, provincial education minister Pir Mazharul Haq was quoted as saying in a statement issued on Monday.
Commenting on the meeting of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA), the minister said he has great respect for teachers and professors and he even cannot think of disgracing them, as teaching is a sacred profession.
He advised the office-bearers of the SPLA to pay attention to students’ education because examinations are drawing near and politics should be avoided. The minister further pointed out that no teacher has been victimised.
He said a comprehensive policy has been chalked out to appoint principals of colleges, where needed and appropriate funds are being provided to improve school and college buildings.
