NLA employees get pension cheques

ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Culture and Heritage Samina Khalid Ghurki has said the democratic governments always took steps for the welfare of the masses and to provide them with basic commodities of life.
The federal minister stated this during a pension cheque-distribution ceremony among 23 retired employees of National Linguistic Authority (Muqtadera Quomi Zuban) here on Friday. She said the government was providing every possible relief to the people of the country. She said the welfare of intellectuals was responsibility of the state as such people were a precious asset to the country.
She said Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani took special interest in this issue and credit went to him for providing money for the welfare of these people. She said though natural calamities badly affected the performance of the government, it was committed to the welfare of the people. She said the government would support the legislation for the welfare of intellectuals.
Funds for the payment of pension to the employees of NLA were issed on the directives of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and order of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
