JI supports protest against outages, gas shortage

LAHORE - Announcing all out support to the protest movement by industrialists, traders and workers against fuel price hike, stoppage of gas to industries and prolonged load shedding of electricity, the Jamaat-e-Islami has urged the people from all walks of life to join the JI countrywide protest on the issue.
The call for countrywide protest has been given by JI chief Munawar Hasan. Protest rallies and meetings will be held in the federal and provincial capitals besides all major cities of the country.
JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, in a statement here on Monday, said that the four-year rule of the PPP and its allies had literally buried the masses alive due to price hike, unemployment and shortage of the necessities of life.
Millions of households were not getting gas for cooking while the rulers were living in luxuries. People all over the country were already on roads against the gas shortage and load shedding.
