New investigation protocol signed for policing

Lahore - Prosecutor General Punjab (PGP) Ashtar Ausaf Ali said on Wednesday that the new investigation protocol and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb crimes have been prepared and would be implemented in Punjab immediately. Speaking at a news conference in Garden Town where the new investigation protocol was signed, Ashtar said that it would improve the working of the police and the courts against criminals. He said that the new protocol had been prepared according to the European Community building for Law Enforcement, adding that under the protocol, modern forensic techniques will used in all criminal cases for collection of evidence. He said it would end the use of torture in investigation.
