‘Killer of 100’ among 24 suspects arrested

KARACHI - More than 24 suspects were arrested during search operations across the city on Thursday while the police claimed to have arrested a target killer involved in murdering more than a hundred people.
Police have arrested an alleged accused identified as Aqil alias Takla from the Nazimabad area and claimed to have recovered arms and ammunition from him.
The suspect has admitted to have killed over 100 persons in the city during different bouts of violence, police said.
The arrested man was shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
In Shadman Town, Rangers personnel arrested eight suspects while recovering weapons. Eyewitnesses said that the law enforcers cordoned off the by blocking the roads.
Another 16 suspects with weapons were held by the paramilitary force personnel during raids in different areas.
The alleged accused were shifted to an undisclosed location for investigation.
The Rangers currently have policing powers in Karachi to conduct raids and arrest suspects.
Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified man was found in a graveyard in Saeedabad. The deceased had been tortured before being killed.
