Who’s got the Khan’s back?

Ali Aftab Saeed

And here I am thinking, can PTI clean sweep the next elections? Do they even have candidates in Sindh, Balochistan or Southern Punjab for that matter? Is it going to remain the party of unsullied eggs if the likes of Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Mushahid Hussain join it? And let’s not forget, even if they don’t make an alliance with any party at the moment, won’t they inevitably have to after the elections? Then, who will it be with? Cracking the shell in two, if PTI just ends up placing a pixie dent in PML(N)’s electorate bum, who will benefit from that? Should PPP support PTI for future dharnas in Punjab? Even if rumour has it, I will have the facts on the rocks: the establishment always assures that there are no hurdles when they support someone in a vested cause. Keeping in mind that it’s Shahbaz Sharif’s government in Punjab, Imran Khan’s impeccably smooth jalsa in Lahore is an unmistakable indication of the above; his peaceful protest against drones in Peshawar is the other. Also, Mian Nawaz’s perpetual grudge against the army was evident in the APC when he addressed General Kayani by saying where there’s smoke there’s fire. That can be taken as acknowledging the US point of view to some extent and the beef in the establishment’s ‘kosher’ menu card. With Sharif’s guns trained on them, maybe the powers that be are looking for other props?Moving on, Imran Khan is very determined about keeping a check on the assets of the current political figures. But shouldn’t these good intentions begin at home? A well-known political analyst from PTI said that Imran’s annual income culminates to 2 crores from which he donates around 1 crore to Shaukat Khanum and other non-profit institutions. But one can’t but have conjectures about where the dough is coming from for all his campaigning. The lighting at Minar-i-Pakistan that day was very well. And then there was the new campaign style introduced by IK - inviting singers to jalsas and covering their boarding and lodging. There were also the caravan of floaters (publicity vans) that roamed around the city with Imran’s posters. These ring a bell in one’s mind about the finances. Given Imran’s insistence that party members aren’t rich enough, one has to ask: where is the money coming from? Imran Khan also announced his visit to China during his jalsa to which he went and quietly ironically (I must consider it situational irony) he came back on a private plane which seemed to be arranged by state authorities. In what capacity did he go there? A couple of days prior to the eye-opening and white-washing jalsa, China seemingly put Pakistan in a critical position (Though not embarrassing) by asking for establishing military bases in FATA, definitely to counter the rising danger of extremism in Xinxiang. Imran, perhaps would have to take a contradictory position if he agreed to the “demands” put forward by China. Imran would be supporting the Taliban for their cause in Afghanistan and simultaneously would be discouraging Muslim separatists in Xinxiang. If he goes to Saudi Arabia or the Middle East after this, won’t it be more conclusive that he is playing in the hands of the establishment?I was terribly disappointed with some analysts as they predicted Imran denting both right- and left-wing vote banks by offering prayers on stage and then letting the musicians play music before his speech. Is playing music all that is required to prove your ‘liberal’ ‘leftist’ credentials? These things once meant entirely something else. That it has come down to this tells us a lot.The writer is a member of the band Beygairat Brigade that has recently released the single Aaloo Anday.

Another loser on PML N payroll. Recently an article was published in The News quoting NAB officials as saying both PML N and PPP are blocking passage of Accountability bill in parliament for last three years because they are both corrupt. Our only hope is Imran Khan.

    • Shahzad says:

If other parties are corrupt after being in power the mr.confuse khan is a bigger corrupt of all, changing is stance everyday not going into what he is doing with Zakat funds ? arranging this big jalsa which 30/40 years old party are unable to fund sach lavishing one, Let talk some facts one day Imran khan says that he bought 300 canal house by selling his london flat and tranfering all money throw proper channel, firstly did he sell a flat or brmingham palace that he bought 300 canal house few days ago he changes his stance again and said that he bought this 300 canal house for his wife and after divorce i sold by flat in london and gave her money against that house there, so where that all legally money transfer thing disappear now people of Pakistan got to now it was gifted to Imran Khan "who gift 300 canal house unless there is something fishy" so this lair khan only make our country beggar, country don't run on Zakat and gifts, The only hope that he can give is when you discover after some year that hope is his illegal daughters name

    • Ali says:

why is it that anybody who writes against PTI is "paid" and all those who write / speak in PTI's favor are "genuine patriotic" journalists !
So much for democracy and its values !

  2. imran says:

mate if you did some homework you would have realised that ther are tons of people out ther (like myself) who are supporting PTI. Even before the jalsa at minar i pakistan Imran had visited US and UK to raise funds from party members.

The Sharifs and Zardaris and rest of the status qou leadership are only interested in one thing and thats making money. Good governance is a pipe dream whilst these people are in charge.

Mate have a look around you and tell me what good has zardari and the sharifs done – people are committing suicide, people are being abused by patwaris, judiciary and the police, education is going down the pan.

  3. shafqat says:

It is disgusting that the fascist supporters of Talib Khan instead of responding genuine questions about their cult leader, just resort in abusive language and name calling. These zombies are just pathetic….

    • Kasif Akhtar says:

Abusive language & name calling… hmm!

    • Ali Wazir says:

Lol in your post you called PTI supporters "Fascist", "Zombies", a cult", you called their party leader "Talib Khan". Now I dont have a problem with any of this(Freedom of speech & being retarded and all) But I think its rich of you to complain about "resorting to name calling and abusive language". ??? That is an astonishing amount of Hypocrisy for such a short post…

  4. shafqat says:

And very well written Amer Sarfraz. Of course you don't need a licence from the cultish followers of Talib Khan for writing your sincere and genuine observations……

  5. Kasif Akhtar says:

The party is financed by ex-pat Pakistanies. How I know it? Because I’m part of that community & have been donating a handsome sum to the party for past 6 years monthly with most other members of my family & friends. That’s how much we believe in him. There’s a dedicated cadre of 2500 members & counting that donate at least $10 every month to PTI. Some members donate $500 a month among them. There are other people who make big & small 1 time donations. Imran Khan did a 5 city well documented & recorded whirlwind tour last month generating over $200000 in donations for his party. That’s how PTI is funded with people’s donation just like Shaukat Khanum & Namal University.

    • Shahzada says:

Then its mean that imran khan involved in money laundering how's he transfering this money in Pakistan any legal prove, making allegation for last 2 years on PML-N with out prove ? just taking school childeren on a ride. PML-N assets are declared if he had any prove then why he hiddening those proves or maligning with out prove that what Quran say about maligning

  6. shafqat says:

no doubt his begging bowl is too big and he would keep circulating it around the world. As Talib Khan has no economic, he vision, he will run the country in a similar fashion. And yes, war booty is another option but then international community will bomb him and his dolla shah followers..

    • Mav says:

Dude, you need to relax. we get it .. you hate his and his "cultish" followers :) …. which is intersting to begin with ? anyways I imagine, we are lucky as a nation to have Khan as a leader and I am not gonna go into citing examples. they speak for themselves…. by the way measuring with the same yardstick … Is HIllary also Hijabin Clinton since she so eagerly wants to tow the same line as Khan ?

    • Shahid Khan says:

Asking help for good cause is not begging, he is not doing it for himself. where as shareef's are concerned they are nothing but bunch of thieves. In Islamic society they would hve gone tundas and called tundas brothers instead of shareef brothers, their father started Itfaq foundry by steeling railways engines and these two crooks it to a new low.

  7. Zafar says:

Its ironic that you call him a beggar especially when he begs from Pakistanis and expats or non-resident Pakistanis. I would prefer him on anyone else who we have at the moment who beg have the same big begging bowls that they extend to each and every one and then transfer it to their coffins in Switzerland or England.

Imran at least is honest and his character and utilization of money that he collects is all in the open to everyone to see. I am 100% sure you yourself must have donated some money to him in the past for his hospital.

    • Afzal says:

Vote for Imran is vote for Zardari.

    • Shahzada says:

Yes we have donated, but what you have to say about his 300 canal house ? expats giving his money of Zakat not for musical concerts, if is that case then there are legal channel to transfer money in Pakistan or he used illegal ways ? please show prove, Imran is the one who was running election campaign for Jewish people in England to infulance Pakistani community over there IS THAT WRONG ? so please dont say he is honest, we hear his lies everyday on TV channels

  8. Fahd says:

@ Afzal: Vote for nawaz is suicide. YOu PML N people keep on creating this false information. Yes Imran Khan is supported by jews, establishment and musharraf. WHere does Nawaz sharif come from. His party is a product of the establishement. Now due to no vision, since he is lacking support, he is equating zardari with imran. Imran is the only person that has criticized zardari the most, when your party was supporting hi, for the sake of safeguarding this system. Oh wait, you also made cases against him,yet you supported him, now there is no point crying. Keep on singing habib jalib

  9. Imran Khan says:

This was refreshing, please keep writing and singing!

  10. Qamber Abbas says:

khan sahib is working for good but with the extensive support of sipah sahaba i dought his rule would be good for shia’s living in pakistan.

  11. DMS says:

I hope all you well educated people are familiar with the term political fund raising. That is where the money is coming from. The ordinary people donate for his campaign, specially ex-pats.
Secondly, whats wrong with using musicians. We see that happening all the time in western democracies in political campaings. Are you trying to say that music is not good way to raise political awareness ? If not than what is the writer famous for ? Does he not sings and raises political awareness? Why is Khan being crticized.
Lastly, haters IK haters should also advise which leader to follow ?

  12. Insan says:

The most remarkable thing about Sindhis is that they will die because of floods and hunger but still vote for PP.

  13. Cyra Asif says:

Loser!! We have no other option you silly man… He is much better then PPP!!

  14. Azeem Butt says:

14 x ministers joining PTI mostly rotten eggs of all political parties are joining PTI , then wheres the change which Imran Khan was talking about , if same faces are going to repeat on a different plat form.

    • massub says:

what are the allegations above on which ground you are saying that all the ex parlimentatrians joining PTI are ''ROTTEN EGGS'' ?
BESIDES, PTI has not yet confirmed their membership, all these ex's WANT TO JOIN PTI, they have not been accepted by PTI yet.
      so relaxe mate.

  15. Azeem Butt says:

in my area NA97 Shahid akram bhinder x minister of pml Q , a highly corrupt man is now the candidate of PTI.

    • @XIApk says:

U cant have party of angels. although I agree that PTI needs to be careful but still I will vote for Leader not some politician

    • massub says:

PTI need to be more careful now, i also know an ex named captain nisar akbar from faisalabad, he is a crap yet now has joined PTI.
      PTI zindabad,
      PAKISTAN paindabad.

    • Ali Wazir says:

Did you collect some evidence about his alleged corruption and contact PTI party command in your district. If you did and they did nothing about it than I would agree with you that is a problem… If you did not you are just spreading gossip…

    • Salman Butt says:

I agree, Me too belings to NA 97. Now binder will bring INKLAB soon.. Just imagine

  16. Confused says:

I'm a PTI supporter & voter but right now I am extremely confused by the dichotomies being exposed within PTI. Can someone from the PTI office bearers please give us confused voters a clue as to what's going on?

    • @XIApk says:

I will vote for the leaders u cant have angels in party… so if leader is good he can manage it … 100% corruption to kahin khatam nai hoti but issue is corruption leader na karey otherwise who will stop him.

      • Salman Butt says:

If whole the party getting corrupt, what the leader gona do??? Is it nt a just new Q league head by imran instead OF mUSHRAF???? Both man of agencies????

    • Faizan Ahmed says:

Let's look at it this way… If you won't vote for Imran Khan, then what other options are you left with? PPP, PML…? They both already have a proven track record of corruption and lies… Both have been part of the govornment and both have sucked the blood out of the Pakistani nation… PTI is now a strong contender in the upcoming elections and a lot of allegations are going to be made… Some of it might be true and some of it might be false… But the only reason I will be voting for PTI is that we have tried everyone else and we have seen the results… Why not give IK a chance; who at least looks like an honest person!

    • Shahzada says:

Voting for imran khan is indirectly voting for Zardari, Imran can't win a seat in sindh/balochistan may be one in KPK what left Punjab its land on PML-N so who is he favoring "ASIF ALI ZARDARI" whos happy rom jalsa PPP "ASIF ALI ZARDARI & ALTAF HUSSAIN"

  17. @XIApk says:

Funny thing is at one side PTI haters say that PTI dont have winning candidates and if some old politician joins PTI they say old faces.

These PTI haters will never be happy so no need to worry about them they are sadist :)

MY VOTE IS FOR IMRAN KHAN coz I want a leader not politician

    • Salman Butt says:

Question is where is CHANGE then???? is it not just a routine politics????

    • Shahzada says:

Imran is not a leader we is a cricket player, a good plummer can't be a good electrician, Buy recycling other parties garbage you call that person the only hope, the change ? I only can say its imran khan the 300 canal house man "np one gift us & you 300 canal house"
Imran is the one who was running election campaign for Jewish people in England to infulance Pakistani community over there IS THAT WRONG ? so please dont say he is honest, we hear his lies everyday on TV channels

  18. Sikander Fayyaz Bhadera says:

Let’s talk about each point one by one:

    1) PTI can potentially sweep elections. There’s still time and by the time election comes, we most certainly will have a candidate on every seat.

    2) Assumptions that PTI is only denting PML’s vote bank is baseless to be honest. I’m working in field, and I can say with certainity that majority of those who voted for PPP last time will now vote for either PTI or PMLN. So it’s not just PPP, it’s both.

    3) Now coming to establishment supporting IK. May be it is, but can this establishment push thousands and thousands out of their house, with their children, wives, families to go and attend a jalsa? Secondly, about IK’s smooth, had Punjab gov put any hurdles, the entire media would’ve jumped on PMLN accusing them off being afraid of IK’s growing popularity. So to keep them from looking on back foot, Shahbaz’s gov didn’t trouble. So it’s not always establishment, sometimes it’s people’s power too.

    4) Every political party generates funds from it’s members/workers/supporters. We all fund the party, and we are in millions who do that. You must have seen people who come to jalsa, from wearing Bally to be barefooted.

    5) China trip had been on his plan for a couple of weeks and he did not go quitely. He announced it on national tv, in front a couple of hundred thousand people at Minar-e-Pakistan. Remember?

    6) Could it be that offering prayer was not really part of any strategy and he just prayed regardless? And about music, every PTI jalsa plays music, be it Peshawar, Karachi, Multan, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and now Lahore. Nothing new. Imran is what he is. He prays and he also likes music. He is a muslim, and his economic policy is leftist. He is a true liberal no matter how anyone paints him. Majority of the country trusts him, so now zaban-e-khalq should be taken as ‘naqqara-e-khuda’.

    Thank you

  19. Rana Saqib says:

these rotton eggs cant bring change in the leadership of morally courrupt person Imran Khan..

  20. Dude, you’re right, he’s getting both fundamentalists and liberals, or at least trying to appeal to them. But what is wrong with your article!? Was it not edited. Some sentences there could really use some rewording. Also, what is wrong with appealing to both?

  21. Nitin Sinha says:

Hi first of all your song is quite liked here in India.. Unfortunately would tend to disagree with the central premise in the write-up. The biggest problem in our subcontinental politics is lack of probity which comes from dubious funding. Black money funneled into politics which in turn means you have to oblige the donors & to indulge in corrupt practices to recover your expenses.
Here you have a man who is trying to break this vicious cycle by collecting money from ordinary people in transparent manner & you attack him because of political differences..In my opinion IK is riding an anti-incumbancy wave where most of the major parties being in govt have not delivered..
Seeing the deludge of anti Imran articles I am stuck as if he is the greatest evil to be born in Pakistan, wonder if these writer also take the time sometime to evaluate the performance of current rulers & also advise them to provide relief to people..

    • Ali Wazir says:

Nithin I must admit an Indian has the smartest on this entire thread. Its called a counter revolution, Now that they know PTI is a serious contender, all these clowns will try to confuse, smear the party to try to sway the average voter. Lull him back to submission , so they can continue to carve out the country in between themselves. Just look at any English Newspaper in Pakistan there are three Anti IK or PTI columns a week. Our corrupt ruling kleptocratic class is very afraid for the first time. It will only get worse…

    • Faizan Ahmed says:

That's an excellent perspective Nitin and one that really makes sense… Couldn't agree with you more!

  22. Usman Farooq says:

“No publicity is a bad publicity”- Imran Khan !!!!

  23. Nousheen says:

I am very much impressed Ali from your article. After “The Jalsa” I was scared that we might loose your band to the dark side. Happy to see you here. I lost plenty of friends to this tsunami. its great that there are people who can see the games establishment is playing. you have better vision than the band that are playing for more than 10 years. well I listened to the songs that they played at the jalsa they are really effective. So was national anthem of Nazis “Die Fahne hoch”. keep rocking.

    • Ali Wazir says:

Lol dont you think you are being a tad bit paranoid. If some of your friend have become PTI supporters do you think they were guilable or did the local ISI henchman apply electrodes to their nether regions to brainwash them.
Does it not strike you about Alu Andey Guys that they are very selective in their critique why not just directly point to the "Establishment" and say what they are doing in Boloachisgtan or the Tribal areas is wrong. And isnt the Music vidoe a tad bit over produced for a supposed new underground group. And such international exposure for to be very honest a very average song??? Why not for fairness sake, point out some of the mistakes in the PPP. Not a word about MQM PUH…LEEEZZZZ.
If you think a comparison to the Nazi party and the Lahore Jalsa is justified, I would seriously question my intelligence and sanity if I were you…

  24. All are greedy of p & pm & dont care for country.. Anyone not greedy of fame can bring change,,not simply a cricketer,,there are many cricketers better than him,,this is not a game to lose or win by tactics,, its BIG PAKISTAN not a cricket ground.. I never support this cricketeer due to his bad past…

  25. Rameez says:

‎1: IK party and jalsa are funded by ex pat pakistani's and ordinary people like me

‎2:whats wrong with appealing to both left and right both are pakistani's thats part of politics you try to find a common ground accpetable to the majority

3:As far as hiring old faces are concerend if he doesnt hire any of the big names people like you will say he doesn't have any electables or he's one man show now that he's considering hiring big names you say how can he bring change with old faces .You can't have it both ways .

As far as i am concerend i dontcare if he hries old faces as long as they dont have any corruption cases against them mind you no name has been finalized as if yet if he does hire some one with a shady background trust me we will hold him accountable. What i would like to ask the writer is you seem big on criticising every one but do u have any solutions for the problems our country faces . I like imran khan not coz i am in his cult but i find him better then the rest coz he does issue based politics and coz he's offering some thing close to solutions for the challenged our country is facing

  26. Ali says:

Dude, i wont mind contributing to PTI even on regular basis though i m not a regular member of PIT. Mr Bagharat Brigade…. a looser
And Mr. Writer, if not PTI then suggest me some other good and better party i should vote for..Its very easy to criticize :)

  27. Ali says:

    @Rameez
1-the writer wrote:"Given Imran’s insistence that party members aren’t rich enough, one has to ask: where is the money coming from?"
do you think your response point no.1 is complete in any form? he is asking for details ..
2-the author actually was commenting on the analysis by various TV analysts, Imran Khan have not appealed to the country's left divide. Your missed his point.
3-the point is no matter what he does, with the old or new faces, its gonna be a breach in the vote bank of PML-N, which is going to be a pro-establishment move, because PML-N has gone anti-establishment, and establishment is pulling the PTI's strings ..

    • DMS says:

The money is coming from political fund raising. He travels abroad extensively to hold fund raising events. I was part of few of them. Where do you think PML and PPP get their funding from ?
Whats wrong in breaching the vote bank of PML. Isint that what you do in politics? Just that PML has gone anti establishment does not mean that parties breaching their vote bank are pro establishment.
The rally was a true show of democracy where common people, some of them attending a political rally for the first time came out and showed they want change.
Kindly suggest a better leader than Imran Khan before writing against him.

    • Jaan Ali says:

you looked to me very uneducated person, just found any single punjabi in punjab who were strongly ppp voters and now asked hom who are you going to vote for.. there will be only one answer and that is Imran khan.. all my friends from left now become a PTI memebers.

  28. Rameez says:

Ali i like his music but he needs to ease up at least pick a side reather then singing about every things that is wrong with our country i would like you to sing about what can be done to resolve those issues ( mind you i agree with all points raised in ur song accept the ones raised against IK). But pointing out an illness doesn't make the sickness go away else we would have a cure for HIV

  29. Rameez says:

The thing is We are tired of the status quo and tired of standing on the side lines and watching as these politicians,Generals and bureaucrats lead our country down the drain we would stand behind any one who is attempting to swim against the tide of corruption, nepotism and injustice that is plaguing our society , As far as i am concerned i don't find any one else worthy of my time that's why i didn't vote the last time(thats when i was eligible to vote for the first time) no one else deserved it

  30. Rameez says:

    @ALi
one jalsa isn't as big financially speaking as running a cancer hospital if you have common sense you would know that IK's Charisma can get him the funds he needs if you want financial details you would have to contact PTI"s offices i am sure they would be happy to provide yu with all donation details

2:As to your second point do u think if he couldn't apeeal to countries left would it have been possible to have such a large gathering ? or would you say all the 500,000 people present in minto park that day belonged to the right ?If you think that then i say may be liberal left politically is not that important

3:As far as the establishment is concerend i would like IK to take a stronger stand against them too but i think you should deal with one battle at a time if you start attacking every one left and right you might end up loosing the war . First get a politically strong foot hold and then deal with the establishment (Do you think hitler would have lost ww2 if he hadnt started a second front with russia?)

  31. ikhlaq ahmed says:

Shafqat you are really disgusting, the person who ask donations to help poles he’s bad, what about those who begs from jews n christians to fill full there big tids (stomachs)?
Like shrif brothers they are businessmen, name it one of there factory in profit? If they are your standard then may Allah bless you and ppls like you.
And who ever call him talon Khan I believe hes a sick person.
And here I ll offer you I am willing to spend couple grands ask shrif brothers to pass polygraph questions about there corruotion and patriotism? Ask them if they agree?
    Pakistan zindabad

  32. Farooq says:

Ali Aftab, I love your song alu anday. It was about time someone took on the sacred cows. Though one disappointment of your song was that it totally spared PPP. Shouldn’t they be held accountable as well? After all they have been in power 3+ years. PPP is not the party it used to be. The leadership left Sherry Rehman and Salman Taseer in cold.

I also support IK. He gets his money from us overseas Pakistani who supported him for Shaukat Khanum and Namal college and are now giving him money for Tehreek-e-Insaaf. He had big fundraisers in Dallas, Florida and Manchester. I can’t speak for private plane ride back from China, will try to dig through it to find out if it is true. Establishment may have soft corner for him but I don’t think they are supporting him directly. He has said he will take on the army if he has to and if he can’t rein them in,he will resign. He likes to give the example of Erdogan of Turkey.

  33. sohaib says:

The most important things no one is touching are:
    1) Imran khan is honest and has no corruption chareges even if we look into his past.
    2) the ppl he is welcoming in his party are those with no corruption charges and those who have declared their properties.
    3) why are the pl saying that imran khan is supported by establishment? has some one seen happening so? being a muslim we should not be blaming someone we havent seen ourselves or through media……

  34. Mohammad Hassan says:

Greaaaaaaaaaaaat …. Awesome words Writer Keep it up

May Allah save you from the Abusive language of inqalabis now =P

  35. Mohammad Imran says:

A man who was not been in power since 16 years and you're questioning him like he is ruling Pakistan for years, Ali, grow up buddy..This type of behavior did the mess in Pakistan, i seriously laugh bout the reservations which you mention in your article, but that's YOU..not us, we have make up our mind, we are not gonna trap again with the status quo again, both the PMLN and PPP and other looters party's time is almost over inshaALLAH. I just don't understand why the heck you didn't give your opinion bout MQM and why the hell the paid authors are not making articles bout MQM's policy? are you afraid or what? or should I say, establishment is behind you? lol ;) like you freaky guys said bout PTI??

  36. Asad says:

Has anyone ever seen establishment backing JI and MQM? Has anyone ever seen establishment backing IJI in the past? All are blames. Imran Khan is cricketer turned Politician. He is honest? How? He destroyed careers of lot of cricketers. He is proud and self praising Man. He played good cricket and earned money but I think cricketers like Waseem Akram who are still serving the game might have earned more money than Imran Khan but still his residence and Imran's residence off 500 Kanal in Bani Ghala are not even comparable. Corruption is not only of money but of character as well. He is corrupt by character. Almighty has described in Quran that he'll not forgive who'll do Zinnah. Khan has an illegal child. His supporters said he has done Toba. If he has done then he should own her child.
Why Imran Khan's all stress is against politicians? Why not against corruption of Army Generals? Why not he giving any statement against Musharaf? Why he is not demanding to arrest Musharaf who rapped with Pakistan's Constitutional twice? Can anyone answer these questions?

  37. azeem says:

Ali nice analysis of the situation. hope fuly sooner we shall see the true face.

  38. HYDER ABBASI says:

A GOOD ARTICLE. OBVIOUSLY THE YOUTH SHOULD THINK BY EVERY ANGLE BEFORE SUPPORTING ANY 1. THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS WHICH SHOULD COME IN MIND OF EVERY PAKISTAN AND SHOULD SUPPORT ANY PARTY AFTER GETTIING CLEAR EVERYHTING.

  39. Asad says:

Few People are using words 'Hire'. This is the mentality :) I mean Imran Khan is hiring other politicians and people as he is being hired by the Establishment.

  40. Nagato Awaiz says:

good now get the revolution with lotacracy

  41. Rana Ali says:

    bakwaaas. i have read…….

  42. PTI is just a puppet to take out PML-N.

Everyone is well aware of Zardari’s mentality, he is sick planner who plan like serial killers… he is using PTI to take out the only hurdle of PML-N … so that he may enjoy next 5 years in power and Punjab being the most rich and productive provience will help to fulfill his dreams of looting the country.

    I don’t say PML-N is very PIOUS…

PML-N “andhoon mein kaanay rajay hain” they are far better then those blind politicians.

PTI will get nothing only 6-8 seats “ITS PRE-PLANNED”

""AALO-ANDAIY khaanaiy k qaabil hi hai ye, Iski maa nay sahi banaye thay """

  46. Asad says:

Atif Khan Advocate that is the problem with your PTI supporters and with you advocates. U guyz criticize other leadership but don't have temperament to bear criticism. Just take it easy and chill pill.

  47. MO says:

I 100% agree with this.. anybody with the slightist bit of sense would agree

But unfortunately the blind followers of this man rather than opening their eyes they would accuse of being on some pay role

    May God Guide These Fools

  48. n0 d0ubt he is receiving g00d am0unt 0f d0nati0ns .. but ppl gave him m0ney f0r charity purp0ses n0t for jalsas and public gatherings .. :)

  49. Kaptaan says:

Day after day PTI moral supporters are getting confused due to Imran's blunders :(

  50. Khan jr says:

Pity we take sides and then vilify anyone expounding an independent or contrary view. All it does is expose our immaturity.

I may or may not agree with Ali Aftab's view but he has expressed them cogently and honestly and in doing so has raised some pertinent questions. The song "Anday Aloo" is not at all sympathetic towards the Sharif brothers, so anyone accusing calling the "Beyghairat Brigade" of being on PML N's payroll is displaying a profound lack of intelligence.

  51. Asim Ch says:

Imran Khan posses 300 canal farm house at islamabad and 500 canal cultiveable & fertile agriculture land at Mian Chunnu for which he declared its cost only as 53000/- instead of declaring its present market value, with the stance that this land is inherrited and 53000/- was the price of the land at the time when it was purchased by his forefathers.A layman knows how to declare the value/cost assetts but Khan sahib is so innocent in such matters.

  52. Asif Ameer says:

I placed a bet last year with my friends that Zardari will b ousted by the end of this year. So far Zardari has defied gravity. I am starting to feel that Pakistan is going to see Zardari get reelected in the next election unless the Election happen after Zardari leaves. Zardari's biggest's tactic to rule is corruption. He is insanely good at using his quality to survive. On the other hand, the Shareef bretheren are starting to feel that way too about Zardari. They are checking the temperature of the water. About Imran, this messy field just isnt for him. Dont get me wrong. I would love to see Imran get elected. But I am saying what the 2 connected dots are saying.

  53. A Pakistani says:

I have to agree with most of the answers given by the readers … In well educated, civilized and developed nations every political campaign is funded by the donations of people…… If you remember, Obama political campaign started the 1 Dollar Political campaign which was a huge success…..

Also if you remember Obama went to Europe and met the government officials and even delivered a speech before huge crowd before he was elected as President… There are lot of such examples….

I was watching Hassan Nisar in following video few days back … I would like every one especially the writer…. to view the video and ask this question to yourself "What exactly are you doing?"…. Dont you think this article is further dividing the nation and creating fuss among each other…. Just quoting Hassan Nisar's words…. "We fight with each other like dogs just to make our masters happy" ….
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IGRf57sbc0

Ali Afatab, I have seen your pathetic song… which is a cheap move to become popular .. You are not only a disgrace to music scene in Pakistan but overall disgrace to whole nation…… Worst of all is that after that pathetic song people think that you are some hardcore analyst who knows better then the rest ….

I believe this is, one of the worst articles I have read in recent times and is biased towards the corrupt ruling elite…. It seems some one in writer's family is already in Parliament and is part of corrupt ruling elite….

  54. Ordinary Pakistani says:

    Asa,
I am a Pakistani, originally from Lahore, and I have been living with my family
and relatives in Canada for the last 15 years. I personally have been
contributing to PTI $50 every month. Plus my relatives, in Canada and
in the USA, contribute around US$1,000, in total, every month. We
believe this is the least we can do to bring a change of good in our
Pakistan . There are over 2000 regular members – all Pakistani – who
contribute min, $10/month. Also, just couple of weeks ago, IK did a
tour to US/UK and UAE and raised on average $70,000 in each fund
raising dinner. Just go to PTI website, watch videos and read press
    releases.

I always appreciate constructive criticism as that’s the only way we will improve
and will learn from our mistakes. But when punks like you, George
Foulton, Harris bin Munwar, who have literally made no
contribution, whatsoever, to this nation, unleash you ignorance to get
some cheap readership, your comments are akin to insulting our genuine
efforts. Shame on you. Take your head
out of the sand. You have some talent, use it to contribute something
positive to this nation, per chance you may be remembered in good
words in the history of this nation!.

  55. Zafar beyghairat says:

good article…and brilliant artist/singer…keep up the good work

  56. Amjad Cheema says:

    Ali Aftab we love you.
The message u have transmitted in three minutes was incredible.
Before it I thought its a graveyard there but now I believe their is a ray of hope.

  57. Javed says:

In all fairness, Imran made his mark. More than conspiracy theories, I could see so called main stream politicians freaking out.

Though many people are either still thinking or confused at the moment. I could only wish best of luck to my ex-favourite party. For them I had voted many times in the past.

Moving forward, I have embarked on this new journey with PTI. Ridicule me, confuse me, mislead me . . . I know, I have made this decision.

I trust this man better than anyone else !

  58. jane do says:

look dere is a writer who jxt tryin to get cheap publicity by criticizing a great leader.

  59. Jaan Khan, USA says:

nother idiot on PML N payroll, whatever you said its all bullshit. What is reality people are joining PTI from left and right, I have two masters degree, we are not Idiots like you and we not on payroll of anyone like you, and we are not uneducated like you are, just ask people how sick they are from these old rulers.. what people will get new from PMLN and PPP, these both are already in government one in Punjab and other in other three states. Look at the education system of Punjab, you can easily consider it one of the worst education system in the world. Just come out from your PMLn shell and the see where is the world right now.

Read my next message for more true details

  60. Jaan Ali says:

Everybody asking, where money coming from for Imran khan, We people living in USA and UK sending money to Imran khan for betterment of the country, I know 100s of my friends who send him money on monthlay bases. I send him money to make my country better. Any country can bcome great country within 15-20, if there honest leaders in the country, but sadly Zardari and Nawaz are just making money for their kis, and doing nothing for the country. if were sincere with the country they could have collecected huge taxes from rich people and increased spending on education at high level, but they failed badly in both things. I am thinking to sell my house and send all money to Imran khan. we are the only nation on the planet which feel so much guilty when telling somebody we are pakistanis. if somebody is still doubtful who is giving money to imran khan we would be happy to show our tax returns receipts.

  61. Jaan Ali says:

Another idiot on PML N payroll, whatever you said its all bullshii.

  62. Jaan Ali says:

Just look at the link here what Pakistan is spending on education (% of GDP), Even though i hate Mushraf, but he increased spending on education from 1.2% to 1.8%. Nations develop only because of education, and both Nawaz Sharif and Zadari they don't like to spend more on education, coz it gives them a huge benefit, more the uneducated people more the tax chori you can do it… if this nation had a literacy rate 80%, people like Zardari, Nawaz and Mushraf would have been in jail instead of ruling the uneducated nation. so why they have to increase education spending when low spending give them all they need? UN said every country should spend at least 6% on education of their GDP, Pakistan spending is shamefully low, at least Imran khan claiming that he will on education about 10%. we are voting PMLn from last 25 years, what are you expecting more from us??? do you think we are animals? people really need to throw these old rulers from our country forever… these all are tax chors s, all they are doing making money for their kids..

  63. Nadeem Irshad says:

I don't know what do PML N supporters think or if they have the ability to think, Imran Khan has been extraordinarily honest in whatever he has done , played cricket and is remembered as legend, committed himself for cancer hospital and you have a state of art hospital in Pakistan, built a college to educate people and to change their lives. Then we have Nawaz Sharif started his politics openly under the shadow of a dictator, felt proud in being called his son, when given power twice didn't do any good to the country and when Musharraf overtook power ran away to save his life, if he was sincere to the country why would he leave the country and return only when he was sure that there is no danger to his life, only then he remembered Pakistan and Pakistani people and then to save his government in in Punjab supported zardari I just want to ask him one question Is democracy more important then Pakistan and even if it is Is he afraid of establishment, If he was a true leader he would die like Bhutto but would not compromise on his principal.
Every human has been blessed with brain by Allah swt and if we use it and compare Imran Khan with any current politician we will know who to support.
Lastly I would like to tell my ignorant friend who wrote this article that establishment can make you win elections but not hearts and minds of people and we saw in PTI's jalsa that Imran Khan has won hearts and minds of people. Those people their were not employees of establishment they were common people who love their country and want change in their future.

  64. Well whats the criteria these days to write for English Editions these days??It seems all you have to do is to bash IK and you will get your trash a space in the news and lots of comments on it too..Seriously man your arguments are so funny..Abt your point why liberals are attracted by Khan then its because of agenda he is bringing forward. This is what Bhutto said in 70's..Read IK's latest book so that u would know what does it mean to be a liberal.Drinking ,having sex and support the killings of innocents in drones can make you a sinner but not a liberal.Liberal means somethng else..U seriously need to get some knowledge before trying to pick up your pen again.

  65. Farooq says:

Just to get comments on the article, writer's like these are using IK as their topic.

  66. Behram says:

It is obvious this person doesn't know the concept of 'public donations' to political parties.
These people can't accept that someone can actually achieve something positive by his own efforts, without being sponsored by the those with vested interests (i.e. the establishment). If Imran Khan was going to use the establishment to achieve power, then why did he not do so in 2002 when he was offered seats and the prime ministership? These are the questions you should be trying to answer rather than those which are mentioned in this article. Stick to the day job my friend!

  67. Junaid Ahmed says:

Well, i would just say people should be optimistic and not always pessimistic. When Imran Khan came into politics we(people) used to call him that he cant even win a single seat. Now, only if PTI won from Lahore his party can win at least 15 Seats of national assembly from Lahore. Reality is getting different day by day. I know many people who used to make fun of IK and PTI are now die hard supporters of his party and his vision. Whether you agree with me or not, Imran Khan is the only politician who spend more than 15 years in opposition and in a country like Pakistan where terror prevail everywhere is very difficult. I hope and i support Imran Khan since 2006 and he will be the next vibrant and energetic politician, who could/would definitely turn our country into a positive direction. Imran Khan is the ray of hope.

    • Umar says:

Wow, I mean, Lahore has 13 NA seats but you say he's going to win "at least 15." Wow!
Like MQM, who win, in some constituencies, 104% of registered votes?
      Junaid Ahmed for Education Minister!

  68. Asif says:

So now another political anaylyst. This is one of the pakistan problems anyone who got some popularity like Reema start giving their analysis on current political situation and thik he is the best and knows more then any body. This Aloo choley guy raising his fingers on the funding Imran receive for his party. So I make sure him that we do work for him outside pakistan and collect moeny for his party. Now its his turn which he should clear before the people of Pakistan.
    1. Song was created in a very professional manner which is quite costly no one will do that for the new commers for free where they got this funding ???
    2. Who release that song on internet and on international media for them.?? because for new commers its almost impossible.
    3. Ok if we accept they did paid every penny for the production of this song so now so what they earned from this song and from inteviews specially from international media their basic promotors DId they pay any tax on this income ???
My last and final question fromthis Aloo choley who is funded you please twell us otherwise if we know later like that Doctor spying for americans in Abbottabad they it will be real embaressing for your family and they have go in hide.

    • shadab says:

hahaha good slap and nice paying back in same coins. As an old saying goes, ask stupid question and get stupid answer.

  69. Yasir says:

Just stick to singing, you seem better at that only! Seems like you owe something to the Dengue brothers! My freind evolution takes time, this is just the beginning and before you know it, it will all turn it reality. Whether establishment is supporting it or the people of Pakistan, Imran Khan is a good omen!

  70. M DOT MOHSIN says:

A poll conducted by the U.S.-based Pew Research Center in June found Khan, the captain of Pakistan's 1992 world champion cricket team, to be the most popular political figure in the country.

    The Telegraph

  71. Mdot Mohsin says:

  72. fahad says:

The person who has written this article is a member of the band Beygairat Brigade and he sells Allo anday ka salan near Appara…… When i heard his song i had headache for whole one day …… Now after reading there political analysis i think i feel like vomiting…….

  73. Sidra Riaz says:

A great analysis.. Just because he is not an orthodox politician doesn`t mean we have no right questioning him..
This has always been the trend here (maybe elsewhere too).. We make heroes.. without acknowledging their Cons at that moment.. and later We are the one`s disgracing them.. Be it Zia, Bhutto, Bibi, musharraf or whoever.. They were all heroes at one point for us…!!

  74. shadab says:

By writing such crap you'll help in putting a dent in IK's vote bank and eventually this division of votes amongst IK and NS is going to help zardari. So if you wanna get rid of zardari then support IK.

  75. Faheem Almas says:

First of all there is no evidence that Imran Khan is supported by establishment because I dont think so that 5 lac crowd at Minar-e-Pakistan was establishment. Even if establishment is supporting PTI then it should be said that establishment has stepped forward for Paistan's betterment. Secondly, PTI is financed just like Shaukat Khaunam and Namal university are financed- by the common Pakistanis and those patriots who really are patriots. Imran Khan is our only hope.

  76. Aamir Awan says:

two type of persons are there in the world, on who see half glass empty instead of half water in it(pessimist) and other who see half glass full of water(optimistic).
imran khan is representing optimistic people, we will bring revolution in leadership of imran khan, it is to decide by the individuals whether they are optimistic or not..
    Imran khan zinda baad

  77. shafqat says:

Wow, fascist followers of Talib Khan, another Hitler in the making, would no decide who is optimist and who is not. Its like the referendum of the spiritual father of Talib Khan Gen. Zia who declared that those who supported Islam had supported me as president of Pakistan. Pakistan Tahreek-e-Islami (PTI) and Khaleefa Talib Khan zinda baad parr iss bechary Pakistan ka kya bany ga in janooni fistaion ke hathooon

    • John says:

What a nonsense post, i am sure you must be an uneducated voter of MPLn.

      • shafqat says:

You are sure why Mr. John Jahli Gora sahib? You are wrong molvi Jon and your ignorance and education is evident from your gateya reply. BTW you are sure of idea that Moron Khan is a leader but you are as wrong as terming a voter pf pml (N). Im only a concerned citizen of Pakistan who is resiting facisist molvi Moron Khan and his sick followers like you….

    • aniq says:

zia ul haq is godfather on PMLN…Imran Khan always opposed zia
nawaz sharif is true facist with his 15 the amendment and always played the islam carad
      u are hypocrite

  78. Masroor Ahmad says:

Its such a pity. I actually thought you were a sensible by-stander remarking on the political madness that surrounds us. What you're presenting as facts are mere conjectures and your logical reasoning is no different from that of other rumor-mills.

Opinions are to be informed by facts. Facts shouldn't be cooked up to support opinions.

  79. Arsalan Ghumman says:

    to the author,

sir, you talked about sindh and balochistan. do you yourself know how many provincial assembly or national assembly seats from these two provinces ???

I guess google can help you out.

  80. qasim says:

I think the writer should do whtever he does best at apart from commenting..coz he knows shit…… beta agar Imran khan na aya tou Allah hi hafiz hai mulk ka…wasay bhi this article is only discouraging ppl from voting …i think u r hired by PML(n) and clan of beghairat politicians….ya phir tum ko yeh gussa hai keh tumhari beghairat brigade ko nahin bulaya imran ne jalsay per ..hain??? lol get a life loosers

  81. Adeel says:

Please keep in mind that every joining of old politician doesnt mean that he will get party ticket. Let them join but you will see the filteration when tickets will be awarded. So dont be confused.

  82. Zahid Khan says:

    ♥ ♥ ♥ Imran Khan ♥ ♥ ♥

    • shafqat says:

Yes, Allama would have loved him too. He is truly his shaheen though too old and ugly now and living on the 'tukras' of agency walas now…

  83. Sumaira Shah says:

We support IK unconditionally. And this guy wants some cheap publicity. I think he should concentrate on his own field.

    • shafqat says:

again a depiction of fascist mind of Pakistan tahreek-e-Islami. Why donno u tell Talib Khan to concentrate on his work which is begging and not politics which is business of wiser and saner people and not a Moron like him.

  84. Nouman Khan says:

What's really BAD if even establishment really, really supporting IK? Ayub-Bhutto, Zia-Nawaz are also the existing couple of our history, establishment created most of the parties. Secondly, keeping in view establishment's own responsibilities, this time they wont make blunder in current circumstances as they made in form of MQM.
We should trust our intelligence agencies, they are engaged in a war.

  85. Mahd says:

just one thing about all those jalsas, where people themselves claimed that they were BOUGHT by Benazir Bhutto on all of her massive jalsas, those dhol walas etc etc

where did that funding come from? ever thought about that?
but ALAS ! the truth was unfolded at her miserable end !

dont u see that Imran's jalsa was funded by ordinary people like me!
he has been collecting funds ever since i was in school! and i am personally the eyewitness of that!
ironic but sad, that benazir's jalsas were also funded by ordinary people like me… the taxes we pay and the corruption they do ! dont say that she was not in power at that time…. because the money they suck out of us is enough to feed generations of Pakistan !
@ Muhammad Javid: yes he has a bad past, by the way do you have anyone in sight who has a better past?????? ANYONE ?

  86. aniq says:

China never asked to establish military basis in FATA. Why do you read the Asia Times ? everyone knows that a a front for Indian Hawks

So what if Imran Khan went to China ? he didnt meet with the President of China.Nawaz Sharif went to turkey and met with the President of Turkey.Whilst Benazir Bhutto RIP met with Afghan and British Leaders during the election Campaign

so its normal to meet foreign leaders

  87. aniq says:

"The writer is a member of the band Beygairat Brigade"

ahh the well known pro american defeatist brigade in pakistan who are proud of the fact they are shameless and have no respect for their country

Even if Imran Khan travelled to Middle East so what ?

Obama went to europe and Israel when he was Just a Candidate and met heads of states

  88. Syeda says:

a man who served as a cricket team captain and now a chancellor of university of bradford must have saved hell a lot of money!! so stop questioning about his moneyy

  89. zeeshan says:

what sort of analysis you have done? The funding is coming from overseas Pakistanis. It is all due to the credibility of Imran Khan. Always think before you speak or write. At least you should be politically mature enough to write such kind of article. First read and observe then start writing. Every patriotic Pakistani is behind Imran Khan and China called him for being a head of a political party and he visited in the capacity of the Chairman of PTI.

  90. Obaid says:

Question we must be prepared to address in PTI's case is 'What if' assuming they make a clean sweep. Unfortunately, we are 'optimistic-in-the-beginning' nation. Recall the euphoria during first two years of Musharraf.

  91. Sarmad Hafeez says:

At least somebody is asking the right questions.

  92. sanaullah khan says:

surely the agencies are supporting ik .

  93. Imran Malik says:

Well! will never mind if they just write "Paid Article" at the end.
