CCPO unveils Independence Day security plan

LAHORE - More than 10,000 police officials would guard the city on Independence Day to provide effective security cover to more than 50 functions and rallies being held on August 14, said Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir on Tuesday. The CCPO directed Lahore Police to make foolproof security arrangements in the provincial capital. He issued instructions for stern action against motorcyclists involved in one-wheeling and riding without silencers. On the orders of CCPO, special teams have been constituted to take immediate action against those indulging in unlawful activities. Control rooms have also been established in the offices of divisional police superintendents to cope with emergency situations.
