Sindh Assembly passes 4 bills amid rumpus

KARACHI - Sindh Assembly passed the Police Act 1861, Local Government Ordinance and Commissionerate System Bill on Wednesday.
The Assembly session began with Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza in chair and MQM MPAs demanded to be allotted opposition benches.
After the session, MQM leaders addressed a press conference and blasted the government. Faisal Sabazwari lashed out at the passage of the three bills. He said PPP government should accept the resignations of MQM ministers. He added that there should have been debate on the bills but they were bulldozed.
He further said the future of the province had been jeopardised by passing these laws in the assembly. Meanwhile, the local government bill had also been challenged in the Supreme Court.
