Watan cards: 2nd phase likely to start soon
KARACHI - After issuing over 1.6 million Watan cards, NADRA is likely to start the second phase of compensating flood survivors, NADRA Deputy Chairman Tariq Malik said on Monday. He said that in the second phase - Citizen’s Damage Compensation Programme - cash compensation would be given to more than a million flood survivors. NADRA is working with the provincial governments to start the second phase of relief as early as possible, and the WB has already approved $125 million for relief work.
In the first phase, NADRA had disbursed cash assistance of over Rs 30 billion to flood survivors across the country. NADRA has set a global example in helping people and a mechanism for disbursement of cash assistance transparently. In Sindh alone, the number of Watan Cards issued was 651,990 with the amount disbursed standing at Rs 11.38 billion.

ISLAMABAD – To provide relief to the flood-affected people, the Sindh government, NADRA and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) have joined hands to start a relief programme in notified calamity-hit areas in Sindh. Pakistan Card, a debit card or an ATM card, will be given to each calamity-hit family after necessary validation by PDMA and biometric verification by NADRA in order to ensure transparency in cash disbursement, said NADRA Deputy Chairman Tariq Malik in a press release issued Friday.
He said that NADRA was all set to launch relief operations in Shaheed Benazirabad, Badin and Mirpurkhas within the next 48 hours. Malik said that Pakistan Card will have a cash tab of Rs 20,000 in two equal installments of Rs 10,000 for each affected family. NADRA is setting up special offices for issuance and processing of Pakistan Cards in nearly seven major rain-hit districts including Badin, Tando Muhammad Khan, Thatta, Tando Allah Yar, Mirpurkhas, Tharparker, Umerkot and Shaheed Benazirabad.

Aoa respected sir after flood 2010 in diferent disst in pakistan anounced by govt of pakistn that 3 instalment will be provided for efective areas but 2 instalment have given by govt we make sure that 3rd instlment will be given from pakistani got or not thanks
